At the sight of the party beginning to stand and move on from the tavern, the dwarf and goliath finish the last drops from their cups and do the same. Leaving the table, the goliath drops a gold coin behind.
"Thanks, kid." The dwarf says to the young elf, outside of the tavern, holding the door for the group. Outside the tavern, the dwarf addresses the group "Your cart and horses were moved to the Westfield stables outside the city wall. I got no problem with Rosie's place, but you could of picked a closer tavern. Curfew's gonna be going before we reach the old man's hole."
The dwarf shrugs "It's not bout easy, getting to the hole, just means we hafta take the drainage tunnels." The dwarf and the goliath led the party down past the Archmeister's shop and into the larger street where they had viewed the wanted posters.
The crowds had thinned considerably and although daylight still filled the areas, the sun had lowered enough to cast dense, long-reaching shadows through the city. No sooner had the group entered the street that the dwarf led them off a tight alleyway, barely five feet across between the buildings on either side.
A bit down the alleyway, when out of sight of the main street, the dwarf stopped and turned around. At her feet was a square hole in the ground, with a metal grate covering it. The ground around the grate was stained with mud and a stew of unknown liquids and unidentifiable solid bits, all draining towards the hole.
The goliath yanked the grate free and moved it to the side. There was a 'slurping' sound as the grate was removed and a slimey wet mud-gunk fell from its edges. The dwarf smiled to the group, "Well, in you go. Who's first?"
Anearis does a quick look around to make sure no prying eyes are watching them. He then carefully steps in the hole, holding his breath to what he believes will be a very unpleasant odor.
"Oh, how wonderful. Toshing. God bless the lady of the Tosh,"Ura groans, holding her nose. She prestidigitates a sweet smell of fresh air as she climbs down into the square hole, trying to avoid the worst of the dirt.
The group entered a tunnel beneath the alley that seemed to stretch off I'm opposite directions, just a few feet beneath the city street. Unlike the sewers of Cathaan, for example, whose walls and ground work were mortar work, these tunnels appeared to be carved in the rock bed on which the city sat.
However, the architecture of the tunnels was by no means a worthwhile focus considering the overwhelming aroma of bodily waste that surrounded them, and the of liquid and floating solid mush. While in the lack of light, and likely lack of desire to identify it, there was a strong probability if it smells like bodily waste, and looks like bodily waste, that's likely what the party now stood in.
The dwarf and the goliath joined them. "Just don't light a flame. There's a side tunnel up here that raises out of the filth."
After about 30 feet, there was indeed a tunnel that allowed them to step out of the waste. The dwarf then led the party for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, through the labyrinth of sewer tunnels.
Uthal taps Austin on the shoulder and passes on his night vision to her. He then looks to the other goliath. "Do you need assistance seeing in this darkness?"

Ura pretty much keeps a hand over her mouth, breathing in and out in short gasps of sweet, fresh-smelling prestidigitation as she follows. The same liberal treatment would follow for the cleansing of her boots, and any other of the party member's clothing, the moment they left the sewer sludge. "Fitting that a city so shining and bright on the outside would be so foul underneath,"she grumbles.
"Yuck." Austin grumbles as she steps out of the filth. She smiles as one of her friends cleans her boots for her, then again as she is gifted with the ability to see in the darkness. "Thank you." She tells both of them with a smile. She follows along then as their guides lead them through the abundance of tunnels. "We are not likely to find our way out of here on our own." She mentions off-handedly to the others as they move along.
Anearis follows the pair and tries to block out the bad smell as much as possible, creating small pockets of wind with the help of his elemental connection to sweep aside the odor.
The goliath waved away Uthal's offer, as she slipped a pair of goggles over her eyes. She provided no indication as to their exact purpose, but after putting them on, she was able to navigate the pitch black tunnels as if she were able to see.
"Not too much further," the dwarf replied to Anearis. "What're Nik and Nack bringing you to the Old Man fer anyway?"
Uthal shrugs and replies in a tone that discourages further questions, the same one that was given by the dwarf when names were asked. "They think he might be able to help us on our hunting trip."

"Hunting?..." The dwarf looked at Uthal sideways, but didn't say anything further, pressing it.
Turning a corner, the party hits a dead end, though the dwarf didn't seem at all surprised. Without a word, the goliath moved past the party and laid her shoulder against the wall in front of them. Slowly applying pressure, she began pushing the wall back. It swung back to a point of providing barely enough room to squeeze around it, showing the tunnel to continue another 40 feet or so, before taking a left turn.
"This is far as we're allowed to take you. Tha Old Man is waiting for you; just follow to the tunnels end."
"Thanks," Ura says briefly, nodding at the mercenaries as she passes, squeezing through the passage into the next corridor. "Let's go see what awaits us."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ura: 24
Uthal: 10
Anearis: 22
Austin: 1
As the goliath and dwarf step aside, they leave enough room for thebparty to file through into tunnel beyond. Once through, the group can hear the scrape of stone as the wall is moved back into place.
Likely due to her quick reflexes and/or natural suspicion of everyone, Ura was the only one quick enough to react, before the wall shut them off completely from the previous tunnels and their pair of guides. ((If Ura chooses to react.))
Ura curses under her breath as the wall begins to close, and shoves her iron-headed hammer into the crack, trying to keep it at least wedged open enough to see the two mercenaries on the other side of the wall.

Uthal simply drops into the hole with a large splash, seemingly unaffected by the smell.
