"This time," Umbriel suggests,"I think we should bind him so he doesn't wriggle away like the worm he is. I don't have any rope or manacles on me, I think they're all at the cart. Why don't we go back that way, turn over our prisoner to Reidoth before he gets himself killed, and bring Droop and the gear back here."
Umbriel looks momentarily surprised, then says "Thank you, Whistler,"and claps the manacles on the cultist. Hauling him to his feet, Umbriel offers to take the prisoner back and pick up his horse, the cart, and Droop, and relocate everything to the former cultist hideout. "I could use a hand with that, if someone else wants to look through the herbalist's shop over there for that emerald necklace we were told about, and someone else can search the building we're appropriating for tonight, make sure there are no surprises tucked away in corners or cupboards."
Umbriel and Whistler go back to the get the cart and donkey and horses. Reidoth sees them approach and greets them as they draw near. "Is this what is left of the cultists?"
Baeshra resumes his investigation of the cultist hideout, using that previous nat 20. He doesn't find anything else hidden or dangerous.
The ladies go to the herbalist shop to look for the necklace.
This ruined shop is cluttered with sagging storage shelves and broken furniture. Shards of glass and pieces of pottery glint in the weeds and rubble next to rotted books and casks. All the reagents and concoctions here have long since been ruined, and the books are unreadable masses of rot. However, a small wooden case is hidden in a compartment beneath the storage shelves, right where Mirna said it would be. Inside you find a pretty golden necklace worth about 200 gold pieces.
OOC: Who's got the potion that was around the cult leader's neck?
Umbriel and Whistler go back to the get the cart and donkey and horses. Reidoth sees them approach and greets them as they draw near. "Is this what is left of the cultists?"
Umbriel says "Yes, it seems they were getting ready to make an offer of allegiance to that green dragon you mentioned. We were planning to subdue them all, but they were pretty vile people and fought to the end. This one tried to run and shows no remorse, so I thought the Emerald Enclave might be interested in administering some justice. At any rate, we were going to stay the night in their former hideout before figuring out how to help with your dragon problem."
Reidoth nods. "I see. Yes, the Emerald Enclave can take care of this." He looks at the prisoner, mutters something and moves his hands in a strange way, then says to the prisoner: "Come on in, won't you?"
To which the prisoner replies, "I'd be delighted to, thank you!" and walks into Reidoth's house.
Reidoth looks back at Umbriel. "There we go, you lot have a good night now. Come on back when you drive off that dragon."
Reidoth nods and turns his head. "Oh, come back here and let's get those manacles off you. Hold still, please." And the prisoner lets you take the manacles off.
"Now, back into the house with you!" And with that Reidoth follows him inside to cast some more spells.
At this point, Umbriel will give the manacles back to Whistler with thanks, then proceed to roust Droop from whatever he had been doing. Ensuring that everything is still on the cart, unless there's something else that Whistler would like to do, we'll go back to the new digs.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The two of you escort the donkey, horse and cart back. As you are walking past the abandoned store front, getting closer to the herbalist shop where the ladies just found the necklace, you are startled by a slurping sound behind you and the feel of giant, wet, sticky webs descending on you!
Web attack on Umbriel: 21. Web attack on Whistler: 20.
Both attacks hit! Large silky threads wrap around you both. You are currently restrained! You can make a Strength check to break out (DC 12) or try and attack the webs if you can get to your weapons.
The rest of the party is unaware of what has befallen you..for the moment.
Everyone roll initiative, Whistler, Umbriel if higher than the spider's initiative take your turn.

Whistler, whilst sat on the prisoner, produces the manacles from his bag and passes them to Umbriel.

Lyngheid volunteers herself and Rosie to look through the herbalists.
Easy enough.

OOC: Who's got the potion that was around the cult leader's neck?
(Ireniana found it, I don't think she gave it to anyone.)
OOC: She has it and wanted to see if anyone wanted to take it.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Are we taking a short rest? If so, can someone identify it during that time?
Not yet, everyone is busy digging around buildings and hauling supplies.
