The Wildemount Irregulars (2020)

Silent clinks the bag of gold with a grin. With this coin, we got a lotta options. I reckon some healing potions might be worthwhile... or maybe I can start putting some money away for a big plate mail suit. Nice and clanky, we'll be two unbeatable metal machines. 

Yes, at some point I want to have full plate myself. Really, though, I’m curious about enhancing my weapons systems. I think I’ve topped them out as they are.  Something to consider, I guess.

Are you headed to an inn?  Same one as last night?

Since the bartender at that inn previously seemed to know about Tember, Silent will ask him about Phinan Husseldorf after they arrive and before going to sleep. He'll only do this if nobody else is nearby to overhear. 

You return to the tavern, and the innkeeper greets you. How did your work for the Husseldorfs go?

In response to your question, he asks:  Did you meet Phinas?  He's a big shot, will probably take over one day.  A bit rash, but that's youth, right?  Why do you ask?

Magnum will fail to pretend like he didn't hear the question and awkwardly go up to their room. 

Eh, no reason. Just heard some tales around town is all, thought he might know about the silo incidents. No luck on that front, hopefully the other folks Tember hired pull through for him. 

We're planning on hitting the road, anything else you'd recommend checking out here in town before we shove off?

No, but it might be time for you folks to move on.  Somewhere like Alfield or even Zadash; there's always work for the adventuring type in Zadash.

Your conversation done, you head up to your room, get a good night's sleep, and complete a long rest.  It's a new, and rather rainy and overcast new day.  What would you like to do?

Silent tells Magnum, Managed to not let anything slip to the barkeep last night, so I think we're good to roll out. He recommended visiting Zadash, know anything about it?

History - 18

Zadash is a large city, second city of the Empire, almost a hundred thousand people - mostly humans.  It was the capital of the Julous Dominion and conquered about two hundred years ago.  You don't know much more, other than it's a big city, half the size of Rexxentrum, and it has important centres of military power, magic, trade and religious worship.

I’ve never been there, but I know it’s about half the size of Rexxentrum, which is pretty big.  It’s a major hub for all sorts of things.

(OOC: Magnum will switch from Guardian to Infiltrator mode after their long rest.)

Silent has packed all of his things and is ready to start walking on the road to Zadash. 

Magnum is ready.

It's a two day journey along the road to Alfield, where the road splits.  You have the sense when you leave the tavern in the morning that you are being watched, and the feeling only goes away when you are about an hour into your journey north towards the heart of the Empire.

The weather is grim and not getting more pleasant.  Serious rain begins around midday.  Silent, your cloak offers a decent amount of protection, and of course rain doesn't bother Magnum, but you are finding it difficult and uncomfortable to talk in such heavy rain.  Will you continue on, or try to find a place for shelter?
