Balthazar's flame catches the fur of dog #2 on fire. Lorgar follows with his spell, and the dog's saving throw 6
Dog #2 takes an additional point of damage from Lorgar's spell.
Quiller hits dog #3, while Quin just barely misses his attack on the same dog.
Davril stabs with his spear, making a clean hit and taking out dog #4.
The dogs retaliate, with dog #1 attacking Lukas for Attack: 16 Damage: 4
The dog's teeth glance off of Lukas' armor.
Dog #2 attacks 1 Balthazar Attack: 19 Damage: 6
Balthazar takes 6 points of damage
Dog #3 attacks 3 Quin Attack: 11 Damage: 8
and misses
Dog #1 is not wounded
Dog #2 is wounded
Dog #3 is heavily wounded
Balthazar is heavily wounded.
All combatants are within movement range of each other. Dog #1 is currently attacking Lukas, Dog #2 is facing off with Balthazar and Lorgar, and Dog #3 is being attacked by Quiller and Quin.
OOC Rogues are not proficient in using shields, so Quiller is at disadvantage on his attacks when he is using the shield. I did not make an additional roll for this attack, but, did not give him the additional damage for a sneak attack.
For dog's #2 and #3, I randomly rolled to see who they would attack (for dog 2 it was between Balthazar and Lorgar, for dog 3, it was between Quiller and Quin, with the first person to post in those pairs getting attacked on a roll of 1 or 2 and the second person to post getting attacked on a roll of 3 or 4.
OCC Honestly did not realize Quiller, or Rogues in general, couldn’t use shields. Quiller would never be lugging around something he wasn’t getting any advantage from, so I dropped the $&!!@?! thing. CLANG!

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
The mongrels jaws close on empty space as Quin swiftly snatches back his hand. In a single swift motion Quin utilizes his skill with two weapons and draws forth a second dagger to join the first in a double forward stab.
“Whoever needs a shield, take the bloody thing. Anybody got an extra dagger?” Quiller expostulated as he continues to try his best to wack-a-dog. “Wee bit tired of this game.”

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Lukas' long sword sinks deeply into the dog he was fighting. The dog makes a half-hearted lunge toward the fighter before falling dog at the human's feet.
Lorgar hits the second dog dog with sacred flame, and, it dies in a howling ball of fire.
Quin first dagger sinks into the dog's side, sending it into its afterlife before Quin is able to draw his second dagger.
As the last dog falls to the ground, Vothrolo starts applauding from about 40 feet behind the party. "Oh, that is absolutely wonderful, wonderful. That was a quick dispatch of those wild dogs. I was scared they would be a major impediment to our expedition."
OOC For Quiller, no problem with the shield issue. Unfortunately, the way the PH is written, it tells who can use a shield, but, doesn't tell who can't use a shield. Davril will run into a similar problem. Warlocks are not proficient in use of shields. If you look in the PH, the first page on the chapter on classes (page 45 on a hard copy version, the first page on the Classes Summary link if you're using DnD Beyond's electronic version) contains a table. If that table doesn't state that a class is able to use a shield (under armor and weapons proficiency), then they will be at disadvantage with their attacks. The discussion of the affects of non-proficiency on attacks is on page 144 (or found on the armor and shields link under equipment in DnD Beyond's electronic version).
Davril will cheerfully claim the shield as his own, wanting to better be able to defend himself and capable of wielding the spear in a single hand. Looking to the others, "Think that was all of them?"
(Hexblade warlock gets proficiency with both medium armor and shields, just doesn't start with one:
Hex Warrior
At 1st level, you acquire the training necessary to effectively arm yourself for battle. You gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and martial weapons.)
"even if it was, stay alert. where there is one band, there is another." Lukas informs davril, then turn to vothrolo, and explains "given the usual inhabitants of ruins, dogs are a minor concern. the worse monsters lurk in the belly of the metaphorical beast."
Quin wipes off his blade on the dogs fur before she a thing the weapon. He moves quickly to Balthazar's side while ripping off a strip of cloak. "Here let me see that." Quin then attempts to bandage up Balthazar's hand.
Ooc Balthazar is healed already from my Word of Healing spell earlier.
OCC: Must have missed it.
With the dogs removed Quin enters the room and begins to search for all the usual suspects like Secret doors, panels, traps, as well as any baubles that may have been left behind. If a trap is found he will attempt to disarm it.
This room is even larger than the room you just left, measuring around 150 ft x 150 ft. The back wall of the building contains a gap of 75 feet, with the brick walls slowly climbing upward away from that gap. The Blokendrohl is visible beyond the forest as an immense wall of impenetrable greenery. Growing near the back wall is a fairly large tree, with vines extending from the tree back toward the Blokendrohl Forest. The roots from the tree appear to burrow under the floor and pop back up into this room.
When the party first enters the room, there are no other doors visible. But, once in this large room, it is apparent that there are two other doors along the same wall that the party entered by, one north of the door you entered by and one south of the door you entered by.
A few birds flutter around the tree, but, other than that, no animals can be seen in this room.
Clearly amused, Lorgar smiles while saying. "Wizards are not known for it, and I don't recall any mention of anyone learning about healing magic through a book, but who knows? Maybe you will be the first one to do so. Until then however I will be the one patching you up. Now this time I will go in "the middle" with Davril and the others, and you stay back. Might be better that way since you are the only one without atleast some form of armour."
After his short speech Lorgar turns his attention to that tree. Are the vines really going horizontally from the tree towards that damnable forest, or was it his imagination? Clearly disturbed by the unnatural looking growth of the vines he will try to discern any other features that may seem out of order, and if possible from this distance, try to discern to what the vines connect in the forest? A same kind of tree? Are all the trees that can be seen on the front of the foreat of the same kind? He will also point it out to Balthazar: "Say Balthazar, have you ever heard of vines like those? I don't like this. It seems unnatural."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While some examine the tree Quin moves to the south door and listens for any indication of something on the other side. He also checks to see if the door is locked.
