Arogna checks on the dogs' condition. If they are looking tired, she will loop a rope around the sled's front bar, and help them to pull. "Keep goin', lads, not far to town."

Possibly guided by the Cat Lord, and with a little help from Muharg, Shad manages to keep everyone on the road. It's been a couple of hours since you last saw another living creature out in this weather. Most of the wildlife must be hiding from the blizzard under shelter. However, you all continue to push on as the bitter cold begins to get to you, even through your warm clothes.
(DC 15 Con save - 6 on a fail, no damage on a success.)
Suddenly, through the storm you hear a loud roar as you emerge from the snowstorm into a wooded glade. You can faintly see a rustic cottage within this glade - but you can most definitely hear the sounds of bestial roars and battle cries.

"Bar fight?" says Arogna hopefully. But she doubts it.
The half-orc can understand what Shad feels about fires now. She hasn't really been warm since being chilled to the bone by the winter wolves, and she feels hungry for the warmth of a fireplace and shelter of walls, as if for a meal.
Qinfaren pulls his hood lower and smacks his big hands together in an effort to stay warm. Even if they have to deal with whatever is fighting out there, the cottage still looks inviting.

What do you think about being able to use Absorb Elements to take up some of the cold damage Qinfaren is about to take?
What do you think about being able to use Absorb Elements to take up some of the cold damage Qinfaren is about to take?
Well, it specifies incoming energy, but cold damage is the reaction trigger. So I guess so?
As Shad moves closer to the cabin he catches a glimpse of a huge man with a massive greatsword fending off a hulking, white-furred beast. Nearby another beast lies dead, its red blood staining the snow around it.

Arogna follows after Shad. When she sees the man fighting the beast, she takes her hammer in both hands and runs towards the pair. "Need a hand?" she yells to the man.
Qinfaren reacts to the last gust of cold air. Just as it seems to bite deep inside, almost to his bones, he taps into the natural magic surrounding them and allows the heat of the earth to take some of the iciness away.
Shad, not sure what is happening but thinking the human owns the shelter, tries to hide: 8. He would love to surprise the creature, but if he can't he will ready an action.
If the man calls for help he'll attack the furry thing: 11 to hit and 8 damage, but only it the human calls for help.
Con Save: 19 success. So 3 damage halved to 1 because of resistance.
Bjorn follows after the rest. Seeing the man fighting with the beast he would call out, "Hail friend. Do you need help with that or should we stand aside?"
It would not do for them to rob a hunter of his prize after all and Bjorn will not intervene unless it is clear the man needs help.
As you draw closer to the fight, you see that the human man is badly wounded, what's more he looks rather exhausted. He clearly will not be able to continue the fight against the large white creature. As notices you approach, he manages to choke out a cry of "Help!"
The large white-furred beast, which stands on two legs, and has two powerful looks hands with claws lets out a mighty roar from a mouth filled with sharp teeth. You also notice that the creature has two horns that sprout from its head.
(Roll for initiative if you join the fight.)

Qinfaren sees his companions jump into the fight on the side of the injured human. He doesn't like the idea of picking sides without knowing who started the fight but from the looks of it, if they don't intervene now, the human won't last long enough to answer questions.
Initiative: 20
"Maybe if we distract the creature, we can find out what's going on here," Qinfaren says.
(If Initiative is high enough: He holds out his hand, wriggling his fingers like dancing flames, says "frugibus flamma" quietly, and shapes a small flame that appears in his hand into a ball. Quickly he lobs it at the furry, horned creature.
Casts: Produce Flame and attacks with it: Attack: 7 Damage: 2 fire damage)
Shad's readied action, from 1332 above, will trigger when the human calls for help. If he misses, he will move a few feet closer, but stay out of melee range.
For a moment, he thinks of himself--a hairy biped--attacking another hairy biped. He hopes he is doing the right thing.

As soon as the man shouts for help, Shad attacks the larger furry creature from afar. Unfortunately, at that distance his attack misses his target.
Just after, the man swings his greataxe to continue his fight with the creature.
(Attack: 18 Damage: 5 slashing damage)
His attack is successful and he manages to cut a chunk out the creature's side.
Then Arogna moves into towards the beast and attempts to swing her warhammer against the monster. However, with it's large claws it parries the weapon's blows.
Muharg has better success with his axe as he embeds his axe blade into the creature's leg.
This is followed by Qinfaren hurling a flame at the creature, but the monster seems to not have noticed the flame.
The white-furred beast fights back by first swinging an oversized hand, with sharp claws, at the unknown man, before swinging at Muharg.
Arogna checks on the dogs' condition. If they are looking tired, she will loop a rope around the sled's front bar, and help them to pull. "Keep goin', lads, not far to town."
Aware that pathfinding is not his forte, Muharg will join in Arogna's initiative "Let's help these guys out, they really deserve it."

"This weather," Shad says. "It's killing us!" He tries to pull his coats tighter and rubs the luck stone, hoping for the best: 20.
"Look," he says. "A cottage! Shelter. Is that a battle? Is it being attacked?" He will move toward the cottage, preparing his crossbow.
