Bàn holds himself ready but otherwise takes no more action for the time being. "Why not just run away?" Bàn asks, either directly of through Qinfaran interpreting.
Qinfaren decides to try keeping the wolf speaking to get a better sense of whether it's trying to trick them or if it's being honest.
"Is it just you and your master, or are there others besides the prisoners?" Qinfaren asks. "If we're facing a small army, we'll really need to finish our rest."
He motions for the giant rat to wander off outside of the fire light to see if there's anyone else hiding in the shadows, but not to go too far.
"And where is your master's house that he keeps these prisoners?" Bàn throws into the question pool. "We should scout it before we rush right in..." It is odd talking to a wolf. Bàn believes the words but he's unsure if he believes them because he does or if it's just that... He's talking to a wolf and he doesn't know what to make of it.
The wolf shakes his head, "A frost giant has no need of an army. He holds them for ransom for food and gold. Just more than half a day's walk east of here."
The giant rat goes off wondering into the darkness before returning back to the camp.

"Just you and the frost giant then? Still frost giant's are quite strong. We'll need to be fully rested," Qinfaren says. "Can you come back and get us in the morning?"
He looks over at the giant rat and asks in Giant Ratish if they saw anything out in the darkness?
“Let me see what I can do about the keg,” Bàn says and cautiously approaches the wolf. “I’ll just need to inspect it a little to see what is wrong…”
Trying to show no hesitation or fear, Bàn walks up to the injured leg and starts inspecting it. (Animal Handling - 18+2 for a 20, Medicine Check - 1+2 for a 3) Unable to tell what, if anything, is wrong with the leg, Bàn casts a preemptive Healing Word on the leg for 5 hp…
Bàn carefully approaches the wolf, who shows no sign of aggression from being approached. Instead the wolf turns slightly so that Bàn can get to his hind leg. After Bàn heals the leg, the wolf stops limping.
"Better,"the wolf replies. "Thank you. You are much nicer than my master. My name is Koran."

"It's nice to meet you, Koran," Qinfaren says. "I'm Qinfaren."
He gestures to the moon and stars. "We usually rest at night to recover from our day's adventures. And there's really no way we can begin to help with this master of yours until we finish that rest."
Qinfaren looks around at the others, an eyebrow rising when he looks at Ricky, and gestures to the side of the fire.
"You could enjoy the warmth of the fire and get some rest yourself while you wait."
Koran looks at Qinfaren with a look of curiosity, "You sleep at night? Wolves normally hunt at night, just before the light shines. Although, how do you even tell anymore?"
However, he does circle around before lying down near the fire, "But very well. We will wait until you are ready."

"Well then, off to see another giant then, is it?" Bàn asks the others after they have risen and taken care of the morning neccessities. "I suppose we can chew on rations on the way..."
"So... Mr. Wolf here came sniffing around last night. Qinfaren had a little chat with them. Seems his master is cruel and has a prisoner so... We're helping," Bàn explains to Rickey and Bjorn (was Bjorn awake? anyway...). "Seems this will help the town, in a roundabout way."
Bjorn nods with a look of curiosity, he guesses that Qinfaren must be able to talk with the wolves and that's how they know so much.
"This way," the wolf says. Then a look of surprise crosses Bjorn's face. He clearly didn't expect to encounter a talking wolf this morning. However, Bjorn follows with the rest of the group as they begin to follow the wolf.
The wolf walks a straight narrow path away from Dougan's Hole across the snow-white wilderness. It is clear that the wolf knows which way it is going. However, it quickly becomes difficult to spot any distinguishable landmarks. Making this trip alone would be difficult, but at least the group has a wolf to guide them.
Then another wolf comes up behind the group and quickly joins the other wolf in front of the group.
"Brother," the second wolf says. "Have you found someone to deal with our master?"
"Brother," Koran replies. "Indeed I have. These people have already helped me with my leg, Kanan. They are good people."

Qinfaren nods at Bàn.
"Mr Wolf and I are having a little chat." Qinfaren says.
Assuming the wolf isn't speaking common, Qinfaren relays everything said so far and what might be said going forward.
The wolf turns to the now awakened Bàn and says, "I was informing this one about my cruel master."

(Yes, speaking Common.)
As far as Bàn can tell, the wolf is honest with its words.
"He would just find me again," the wolf replies. "He is a greater tracker. Almost as good as a wolf. He has taken a couple of people as his prisoner."

Ricky wakes up and startled on seeing the wolf, but when he sees no one else is bothered by it: he shrugs and just keeps his distance

(Yeah, long rest achieved.)
Bjorn wakes up to the presence of the wolf, "Qinfaren, is this one of yours?"
