"I will take the lead if none of you wish to. Now let us move along, the more time it takes us to get to the temple the higher the chance for more of the townspeople to be harmed." The kobold says, not seeming to have much of a sense of humor.
Wolfstine looks around hoping he was not coming off as the pushy type wonders if he has become leader something not wanted
"Agreed? I'd like your input if you think there is a better order"
Gus
The dwarf pulls up short (ka-zing!) and raises an eyebrow at the wizard, "'An' just who said me be takin' the arrows fer ye? Look at me face! I can't be puttin' this thing 'o beauty out there for all manner 'o creatures to slash an' chew on!" The dwarf keeps a serious face before laughing heartily and slapping the elven wizard vigorously on the back. "Aww, I jus' be yankin' yer chain, greenie!"
Gus looks at Wolfstine seriously. "Don't ye be worryin' laddy, I'll be sure to tell ye if yer cagin' me into a bad decision." Looking to the others, Gus will add: "Listen, I might be a dwarf worryin' about keepin' the blood inside of all of ye, but me pa taught me all about fightin', even if I was a bit o' a disappointment. It's either strong or silent in the front - we don't be knowin' what's in there yet, an' maybe we don't wants them to know. Dwarf, smoothskins, yippers - don't care - if ye can fight, ye guard the front or the rear. You softies need to stay in the middle. An' you, beardless wonder," Gus grins at Celadrim, "make sure you're not near the nasties."
"Well, laddie?" Gus pulls up his breeches a bit and grins at Wolfstine, "how's that fer some input?" Without really waiting for much of an answer, Gus will elbow the kobold and lead the way together (unless there is public outcry, hahaha).

You all move forward in a relatively single file as you progress through the tunnel the sound of the rats gets louder. You begin to see a dim light from ahead and you assume you are near the end of the tunnel.

Frilneiros will keep near the front, staying quiet as the party bickers and taunts, keeping his eyes glued ahead. As they walk he will be doing his best to focus on listening for anything out of place.

Celadrim laughs at Gus's comments. "Greenie... if you only know how many years I have under my belt, master dwarf. I will admit, I'm still young, but even right now, I am older than any one of your kin folk who has ever lived and breathed."
The elf keeps walking forward with the group, his eyes and ears tuned to this, dank tunnel and all of the shadows that lie in its dark corners.
As you approach the end of the tunnel you all notice the source of the rats, a huge nest that extends from the wall to the path. You're fairly certain that it extends beyond the wall as well. It looks like it can be maneuvered around without disturbing the rats inside, without too much difficulty.
Gus just smirks at the elf and shakes his head, giggling to himself. All the same, them elves. All high and mighty and seen everythin' done everythin', he thinks. Well,I ain't callin' ye greenie cause ye be young, knife ears! Ah well. They's a nice crew. Here's to hopin' we can stay alive to laugh about it over pint in the alehouse!
Gus gets close to the rat nest and sniffs: "Aye, rats," he whispers to the others. "I be warnin' ye - be ready - I ain't the quietest lass in the docks, if ye get me meanin'!"
Celadrim nods at Wolfstine's strategy of having some diversionary rations to try and distract the rats if they should take any interest in the party. Following Frilnerios, the elf does his best to skirt silently and unobtrusively around the large rodent nest, while keeping an eye on Gus, hoping that the dwarf's utter lack of stealth doesn't alert the rats to their presence.
The rats have no interest in you, especially when there is food to eat. You move on to the exit grate. Years of exposure and neglect have corroded the metal of the grate and you hope the key still works.

Harbinger falls silently to the rear, still agitated. He constantly scans the dim torchlight hoping to find something to smite.

Frilneiros will move to around the nest as much as he can, mostly having to take the time to mind his axe since he has kept it drawn.
