The site that the main group originally chose is nearby and easily laid out for the evening if everyone is comfortable there. Velshir takes a watch. (will place him in order by default based on others choices)
Prentiss will take first watch. Fascinated by the newcomer amongst them, he keeps casting glances over to the man's confident posture and formidable armour and weaponry. He'd never met a paladin before, but had heard that they could turn the tide of battles when all seemed lost. The fate-twisted boy knew that he would sleep well with such a fighter on their side.
Velshir settles in to meditate. He ponders on Cragmaw castle, trying to allow his subconscious an opportunity to reveal some detail or nugget of knowledge he may have previously disregarded or forgotten, anything that could prove useful.
In which case, Velshir would hog tie him so that he can’t reach the bonds with his teeth, and warn him that the party is looking for a quiet, peaceful night, in which case the gobbo’s life might be spared.
The goblin looks dismayed that he will be tied up for a time and struggles a little but finds the bindings secure. He makes a couple noises but after a glance or two at your blades, he learns to keep quiet. The bodies of the other two goblins lay still some distance away, so any predators interested in them shouldn't come near the camp.
You are all able to settle in for the night, with Loren pulling last watch. The night is uneventful, even a little cool. The goblin is sleeping in his binds when you awaken.
(if there are any actions others who haven't posted which to make prior to sleeping, I can still process them, but wanted to move the day forward.)
Prentiss will Help Velshir during the interrogation by playing good/bad cop.
"Why don't you just tell us what we need to know? We're nice people, look we have a paladin - and a halfling! If we wanted to kill we would have done it, we're not cold murderers. This whole tied-up questioning is unpleasant for everyone and we'd rather send you on your way" etc...
The goblin widens his eyes looking hopefully at Prentiss, then back at Velshir and his questions. A slight uncontrollable twitch each time the whetstone shwings across the blade. (yes that's a word- its a sound a whetstone on steel makes...)
"I can tell you how to get to Cragmaw castle and where it is, but I'll never go back! There's a terrible creature in the Southeast Tower with a horrible screech that Grol wants to feed me too. I said I'd be a better leader and the sentries are lazy and what does a stupid bugbear know about being a King anyways. He did NOT like that." With a repeated shake of the head, "NO, no, no. But I got away. I snuck through the secret way." He adds conspiratorially nodding his head.
Then with a raise of his scraggly eye brows, attempting to raise a finger making a point but find his hands still firmly bound and stops to scrunch them again and says, "The wizard though, he's nice with pretty curtains, furs and a really nice staff. He says I'm smart, other goblins LIKE me and I'll be a better leader that Grol. He cleaned up that stinky cave and made the water run again and says we'll start ambushing traders and have lots of nice stuff! No mean hobgoblins in the cave. We won't bother Phandalin, just the traders because he doesn't want the spider to know. Maybe that's your black spider?" He finishes looking at you thoughtfully hoping that with a Paladin like the shiny blue hair guyed said, he'd be ok.
Out in the open, your group is aware of the lateness of the hour and fatigue from the days activities.
"I think it's about time to find a safe patch and make camp for the night" says Prentiss, scanning for a decent site to start a fire.
Survival 16
Velshir will take whichever watch the party wants
The site that the main group originally chose is nearby and easily laid out for the evening if everyone is comfortable there. Velshir takes a watch. (will place him in order by default based on others choices)
Joshua is happy to take second watch tonight.
(Watch order: Prentiss, Joshua, Velshir, 4th?)
Anything else anyone wants to do before settling in for the night?
Velshir settles in to meditate. He ponders on Cragmaw castle, trying to allow his subconscious an opportunity to reveal some detail or nugget of knowledge he may have previously disregarded or forgotten, anything that could prove useful.
(What do the rest of you do? Does anyone do anything with the secured goblin?)
Oh Velshir wanted to interrogate him, perhaps in the morning when the goblin might be feeling recovered from his injuries?
In which case, Velshir would hog tie him so that he can’t reach the bonds with his teeth, and warn him that the party is looking for a quiet, peaceful night, in which case the gobbo’s life might be spared.
Prentiss agrees, keep the gobbo under watch overnight so that, if he is spared, he can be released in the morning before the party heads off.

Velshir would like to interrogate the goblin on the following topics (summarized may be easier for PBP)
1. what does he know of Cragmaw castle? location, denizens, traps, goals
2. what does he know of the black spider?
3. What does he know of the town of Phandolin, or any plots against the town?
Cal pol says nothing during the interrogation. Bit sits directly opposite the goblin. Listening and sharpening his battle axe.
Prentiss will Help Velshir during the interrogation by playing good/bad cop.

Loren watches Cal Pol closely, a little confused by the wandering human.
"So... Do you know where the man you are after is? Did he pass through these parts?"
The goblin widens his eyes looking hopefully at Prentiss, then back at Velshir and his questions. A slight uncontrollable twitch each time the whetstone shwings across the blade. (yes that's a word- its a sound a whetstone on steel makes...)

Here is what you know of the map so far -
Velshir inquires how to access the secret entrance.
other than that, he is satisfied and will recommend the goblin be released, provided it goes East.
Velshir would prefer to go to Cragmaw before Thundertree, as it’s closer and perhaps more pressing. Could go to Thundertree after?
"Its in the middle on the northside of the castle, behind the bushes." The goblin answers to Velshir's inquiry about the entrance.
