Lymbryl's attack hits the Nothic bringing it to a total 44 damage taken. Joshua'sfire-bolt will finish it off.
Velshir is currently down 5 points and Lymbryl 10. The Nothic was close to death when the firebolt hit so the fire is burning the remains of the creature.
The bridges are wooden and have no rails although the picture makes it look like they do - so clarifying. The Crevasse is a steep-sided fissure is 5 to 10 feet wide and 20 feet deep. Its rough walls appear easily climbable. And the stairs should line up better to the left - just inserting the picture.
Velshir regards the strange creature. He ignores the gash he received from its claws. He can’t help but wonder if the initial mind probings were this thing’s attempt at communication. But the bigger question he voices aloud:
“What is such a strange creature doing in this place?”
Due to your passive perception you notice that the south bridge doesn't appear very strong and would surely collapse should anyone try to cross it over say 50 lbs.
"That's ok - I just don't trust something that looks like it can climb walls to maintain good bridges." Loren crosses over, taking a peak down into the crevasse as he does.
"Velshir,Lymbryl hold up a moment. Let me get you two back to square. If there was one such creature guarding the entrance, I can only imagine worse further in." She pulls out her healing kit and sets to work on the both of them.

Not sure if its in range, but if it is, Unthir will fill his lamp will the oil from his oil flask, then slice a thin cut into somewhere on the creature's body with his dagger. Angling the formerly filled with oil flask right, he's trying to capture some of this creature's blood from somewhere that isn't roaring with flame.
Immediately after, if it isn't too badly damage, he'll look at the face and try to harvest the teeth as well. He's much MUCH more careful about this, trying hard to avoid breaking them and going so far as patting the flames with a gloved hand when they come by.

Loren gentle attempt at the southern bridge still seems too fragile for him to cross, even at his size. Velshir has secured a rope for this attempt and is supporting his efforts. The southern bridge on closer inspection looks to be specifically rigged to collapse at weight over 50 lbs, you don't believe it would sustain even you with your gear. Looking below into the crevasse shows the body of Thel (woodcarver) and lots of bones and other debris. To see well you'd have to climb down into it to search, the crevasse is 20 deep.

The ability is Weird Insight. The nothic targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. The target must contest its Charisma (Deception) check against the nothic’s Wisdom (Insight) check. If the nothic wins, it magically learns one fact or secret about the target. The target automatically wins if it is immune to being charmed. This one had a particular agenda for its search.
And from injuries the party sustained from its gaze - Rotting Gaze. The nothic targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw against this magic or take 10 (3d6) necrotic damage.

The northern bridge is much more secure and you notice that maybe the southern bridge was set up to collapse rather than poorly maintained. You see more of the cavern as you approach.

The damage that you are healing is due to Rotting Gaze. The nothic targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw against this magic or take 10 (3d6) necrotic damage. I'm providing this information due to your Healer background when you heal Lymbryl. Velshir's damage was just from its claws.
"Nothics are fond of magic items. If this ones lair is here we should probably search around and see if we can find anything that could be of use it was hoarding."
Velshir is able to lower Loren down easily as the walls have lots of areas to hold onto and climb down, the rope makes it much easier though.

The bottom of the crevasse feels unnaturally cold. Once you are partially down into the crevasse you notice a chest tucked into a cubbyhole under the north bridge at the base of the crevasse. The smell of rotting is very intense down here due to the partial decaying body and various other scraps of random things that are nearly completely decayed.
Loren nearly retches up a seedcake. This does not, however, stop him from quickly checking the cubby for anything else of value before shouting up to the others above.
"Found something! A chest, looks like. I'm going to tie it off - you guys pull it up!" Loren proceeds to make the necessary knots to secure the chest to the rope.

He’d like to accompany Lymbryl as soon as Loren is done.
Loren motions to Velshir to let him out a bit of rope as he approaches the crevice.
He starts waving his hand rapidly up and down. He shouts over his shoulder. "Now when I wave, let me in. Slowly... Slowly!"
