"Uh sure... it's not going to take my head off or anything, is it?" Loren approaches gingerly with his thieves tools, analyzing the door for anything odd (like a trap of death!) and, if satisfied, will start to tinker with the lock.
Thieves tools check: 17
unidentified other check to scan the door for impending doom:
The only thing that Loren may find a little concerning is that the lamps don't appear to hold more than a couple of hours of oil and are burning brightly. With quick skills, Loren is able to release the lock of the old door and doesn't find any traps. The rest of the hallway is empty aside from the lighting.
"It's not surprising that this place is in use, if it's the bandit's base of operations. We should be on guard, therefore, in case we encounter some of them."
The secret door is marked with an S in map and the door that was unlocked by Loren is marked with an X. (you can only see part of the letters, but to help) The short hallway is lit and has a door on the south end and a now unlocked door across from where you've come through from the cavernous area. Velshir, Loren and Sheyla are through into the corridor with the other soon to follow. The corridor is 5' wide, you can travel side by side but not fight comfortably so assuming single file for now.
"I'd say it's a good bet. Everyone be on your guard." Joshua will say peering into the room. (Is this just a storeroom or is there another door out of here?)
Sheyla stops them... "Why not put the cloaks on. Could buy us a few seconds of surprise by anyone we encounter. As we all know a few seconds could mean a decisive victory."
Poking in from behind Loren, Unthir liked Sheyla's idea of wearing the cape for surprise. He grabbed at one and tied it around his neck, though the practical purpose of pulling it closed for warmth seems lost on his large form. He looks towards the weapons, seemingly unaware of the cape's ill fit, and pondered whether the blades may or may not be stolen.
The weapon racks hold twelve spears, six shortswords, four longswords, six light crossbows, and eight quivers holding twenty crossbow bolts each all of which are good usable condition, but not necessarily new. Here is the present area map. The door at the south end of the corridor is not locked
Sheyla prods the guys with a poke, "I know the saying is ladies first but I'm not going to be the first to walk into danger." She lets her hand glow a little. "If I get hurt, then who heals me?"

About the lamps, Velshir shrugs and says,
"It's not surprising that this place is in use, if it's the bandit's base of operations. We should be on guard, therefore, in case we encounter some of them."
He proceeds through the secret door.
"I still just think its odd..." Loren follows Velshir, almost keeping in his shadow as he progresses forward.
Sheyla follows behind as well. She keeps her eyes open for any danger that they may run into.

The secret door is marked with an S in map and the door that was unlocked by Loren is marked with an X. @Sheyla all appears to be well.
Going south here feels like backtracking. Let's open door X and go that way.
Racks of weapons line the walls of this chamber, including spears, swords, crossbows, and bolts. A dozen dirty red cloaks hang from hooks by the door.
Loren points at the cloaks. "Redbrands?"
Velshir will play along and don a red cloak
"Is there a short one for me?"
"Thats a sound plan." Joshua steps in and grabs a cloak, wrapping it around himself.
Once people are situated, Velshir will suggest going back into the small hall and heading south after all.
Pulling on a cloak too she says, "Well, we are dressed the part now lets find someone to fool."

(I think the holidays got us, how are we all feeling about continuing?)
