My big question is why do you want to do that at all? Not saying it is wrong, but very odd and am curious to know the reasoning behind this desire.
the reason is that it would be convenient to be able to sleep in a bag of holding if you are worried of attack while sleeping, since you can hide the bag in some tall grass
Are you frequently getting attack while you sleep? I would use a leomund’s tiny hut or rope trick if a short rest
I bet noone thought about building a pipe enough long to breath ( one edge reaching the outside, and the other edge the inside ). Like if it were an air supply, or like if you were diving.
So the only remaining tool you'll need it will be a breathing mask connected to the air supply pipe. TADAAAAAA !!!!
I think if the point to sleeping in the bag of holding is to remain out of sight then the pipe could be able to be seen and might reveal the location. So.......
Well, at that point isn't the bag itself still clearly visible?

True, but the OP mentioned they are a 5th level sorcerer so only has 6 spells known which I assume didn’t include one of those, especially if they found the bag after they selected their spell at level up.
I haven’t played a sorcerer so would one of those spells known be worth using on Tiny Hut when a possible other option might be available

Ah yes, the "I'm hiding under the covers but it's getting hot under here" technique.
It depends on how the DM interprets how the air mechanics work. Strictly RAW, you can't get away with this without being a warforged. Air genasi come in a close second, being able to hold their breath indefinitely, but I've yet to meet someone who can hold their breath while sleeping.
What's not mentioned in the bag's description is if an open bag allows air to circulate. I've heard horror stories where a person tried to pull something out of one while underwater, water poured into it and it burst from carrying too much weight. This sort of ruling would likely allow an open bag to act as a hideaway so long as it stays open.
Just be aware that if this ruling works, a goblin could possibly stumble upon it, pick it up and close it, completely unaware that you're inside and potentially killing you. Pick a your hiding spot carefully!

The bag simply being open would have no impact on air what so ever, the bag isn't actually a bag, it is a gateway to an extra dimensional space, you would have to be outside that space, also whoever the dm was that flooded the bag underwater was kind of a dick, that wouldn't happen based on my understanding of the bag, you have to actively put something into in or pull something out of it.
When you think about it, a bag of holding both is and isn't a bag. It's mouth is the portal that leads to its extra-dimensional space, though the vessel for it is a bag. Common sense would dictate that it works similarly to a bag, where a driving force inserts matter into it (you put an item inside, or gravity/hydrodynamics pushes water inside).
Except it's magic. Common sense gets tossed out the window, except when the DM says otherwise.
I have a Warforged Warlock with a bag of holding. It has my library and some belongings, and I can go into it and have my familiar carry me around. This was before the new Eberron book came out.

Either you have a very small warforged or you're using a homebrewed version of the bag of holding.
Bags of Holding don't have that big of space inside and if you exceed it, you destroy it. For you to have a Medium sized creature plus a "library" and more all in one bag means you're not adhering to the size limits of the bag and therefore using a homebrewed version.

If you're going to try that, the GM would be within their rights to say that without an air compressor actively pumping fresh air through the pipe, you'll still suffocate, it might just take an extra minute or two.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
What the OP wants to do can only be done by homebrewing some rules. At that point. Who cares anymore. I've given my players a Gloomstalker Chest of Holding. A gift to a Hag originally. The chest has a larger storage space that connects to a vault within the Shadowfell. Still a limited size with Shadowfell rules attached to it. Meaning that anything alive will suffer in agony. Organic stuff degenerates faster etc. Can do lots of stuff with homebrew after all.
It is Impossible by RAW/RAI though.
The bag is a gateway into the pocket dimension. This dimension is 4ft deep with a 2ft diameter. So unless you're relatively short, skinny and very agile you could squeeze yourself in there. Similar to some "snake people" being able to fit themselves into a suitcase. However there is no way to pull that off when you also have gear on you. Not even mentioning stuff that is already placed in the bag that is filling up space. So let's do a Dex Check to see how limber that sorceror is then. And a Constitution upon waking up. Because sleeping in such a messed up position isn't going to do wonders for your back.
As for the air. Air doesn't flow into the pocket dimension. Only items placed in the Bag need to be willfully put in there and thrust through the gate into the pocket dimension. Air won't flow in. Water won't flow in either. Water would simply make the regular physical bag over flow. Unless the attuned creature holds the bag in a body of water and concentrates to open the gateway to the flow of it. Even if air would have enough mass when moved to enter through the gateway. How would you even focus on letting the gateway be open? the bag's description already states clearly that you can't breath in the bag. There is no airflow. There is no air coming in or going out. And focusing on opening the gateway to let air flow on while asleep isn't going to happen either.
Climbing out of the bag yourself after you went inside isn't going to happen either. A creature is not an item. So you can't "retrieve" yourself from the bag once inside. Officially you can't even retrieve a corpse of a creature that you store in there in all honesty. A small creature at that since it would fill the bag up really fast.
In short. As per the rules. Sleeping in the bag of holding isn't going to happen. You want a good night's rest. Invest in other spells that do this for you. Or deal with the consequences of sleeping out in the open. Hire a houndmaster NPC that travels with the party. Their duty being using the dogs adv. on perception to smells and sounds to alert you etc.
Officially you can't even retrieve a corpse of a creature that you store in there in all honesty.
Actually, a corpse is an object. One of the examples given under Improvised Weapons is a dead goblin. I've tricked my players into investigating a corpse of a noble, which led to a rogue putting his hands on a mimic (the whole corpse).
I did a quick bit of googlemancy to get a closer look at that.
"an object is a discrete, inanimate item like a window, door, sword, book, table, chair, or stone, not a building or a vehicle that is composed of many other objects." and a twitter from the man himself "A corpse is an object. An unconscious creature is a creature"
So.... a corpse is indeed an object. When sleeping inside the bag of holding. no one can pull you out. Unless you died. Ouch.
Even if you could use a get around for the food, air and water issues... maybe a rope trick inside the bag? I'm not sure. Magic users are my forte. If I was a DM, or a party member who had enough of you... I'd just cut the bag with a magical blade/weapon whilst you were inside of it. Wouldn't that automatically drop you into the void never to be seen again? Especially at your level. I really wouldn't try and stay inside the danger bag!
Lizardfolk+airpipe could peep it out every 25 minutes, easily enough to be smuggled into a castle. Strap airpipe securely to face before being pulled out.
If one of your players mentions this thread, change it into a bag of devouring.
I recommend a Sleepingbag of holding, where you mostly jump in, except your face is still showing and appears where the pattern of a face would normally appear on the bag of holding.

Just cast water breathing and bring a bucket of water. That should cover your for a long rest and beyond.

cast water breathing, put a bucket of water over your head, hop into the bag, and you can sleep inside the bag for 24 hours.
Getting out is a bit more tricky... maybe tie a rope to a tree and then to yourself and jump in then...?
Or have a really good friend that you know wont simply forget to retrieve you...
