I like the uralters protection feat. It has some nice risk vs reward
the scroll is a bit powerful as it’s 5 free spell slots, although being restricted to necromancy is a nice touch. Maybe increase it’s rarely a bit
refined training given how much proficiency is used it might be a bit powerful but it caps at 6 which I think balances it
astral elf are a very interesting race. If they succeed a dead save they get up but they have disadvantage. I think that’s balanced but it’s definitely an interesting choice.
I am currently working on DMs guild publication called Alexandro's Compendium of unusual people. It has 19 races, 60 or more racial feats, several artefacts and some NPC monsters. Every race in the book follows wizards brand new design standards, and is a creature type other than humanoid. Previews of some content are available on my patron, which if you want to see this project happen, I would seriously recommend joining. For now, have a look at this race, the trollkin.
Trollkin
Ability score Improvement One ability score of your choice increases by 2, and another of your choice increases by 1. Alternatively 3 ability scores of your choice increase by 1.
Creature type your creature type is giant.
Speed your speed is 30ft
Size your size is medium
ClawsYou possess dangerous, lashing claws. These claws are natural weapons in which you are proficient and count as unarmed strikes. These claws deal 1d6+your strength modifier slashing damage on hit.
Powerful Build You are considered on size larger for determining your carrying capacity, and the amount of weight you push, lift or drag.
Trolls Regeneration You have the natural ability to regenerate quickly in battle. As an action, you can regenerate health equal to 1d10+your level. Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again until you take a short or long rest.

How much will Alexandro's cost? Because I'd recommend keeping it maybe only a Pay What You Want thing so people can get to know who you are and that your content is good before they buy stuff. A more expensive compendium, especially without art, is more dubious and untrustworthy. I'd also like to politely ask if your book includes illustrations? Are they creative commons free, or have you not checked that? Also, I will note that you have technically misspelled artifact for D&D as "artefact", and your Trollkin doesn't have the greatest of formatting above, which may put off potential buyers.
Also, a brief note: your commission price and Patreon prices are very high. Compared with the likes of Sly Flourish, Kim Richards, and Mark Hulmes, your prices are in some cases triple or more expensive than theirs. While I will note that this is an unfair comparison because these are all minor celebrities and you are not, it's still very off-putting to purchase very expensive content to get minimal rewards (such as free homebrew commissions) which one could feasibly get elsewhere for similar quality, from places such as this very thread, for $0. Your spelling track record is okay, but it's not so great as to pay four or so times what you have to pay to access Mark Hulmes' Patreon content, which includes plenty of homebrew content already and who has been endorsed repeatedly by WotC. Also, your solo commission price of $50 USD is stark in comparison with Deven Rue's commissions and much more potentially as low as $1.
Not criticizing you or anything, just a few pieces of food for thought.
The concept is that you can reuse spell slots, at a cost. The risks go up each time, and they don't stop just because you're using a spell slot again. Effects include the wild magic surge table, casting a random different spell, or falling unconscious.

Looks cool. Though it might be a bit too hard to loose instability. Maybe an overhead loss of half prof bonus every short/long rest?

I like it. It stops people from using it a lot and that it’s more of a last resort then a common occurrence

I hope to introduce it to my campaigns so with playtesting I will find out how much of an effect it has! I like the idea of using prof. bonus as a baseline instability reduction, I'll keep a log of how much people end up with!
Does anyone have a coding guide for creating actions for your created monsters? I'm trying to make a druid to use in the encounter builder. Any advice?

My advice is to make a copy of a creature with actions similar to the actions you’re trying to have on your creature, then modify to your liking.
That, and don’t modify anything in brackets. Modify only damage types, bonuses, and dice in braces.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seem to be looking at a lot of homebrew stuff currently, so figured I would have a join here so I can get feedback on things I may make and learn from everybody else as well, both technically and in balance, so to get started I have an item I created for a campaign after rolling on a random item table (may not have been a dnd loot table, oop) and getting an item named that wasn't an item; Vial of Lightning
Also, the rolls don't appear to be working in the description using the dice roller thing (32) and I'm not sure why, so if anybody knows how to fix that too that would be great :)
I was mainly looking for feedback on my vial of lightning item, the rolls issue was just an incidental thing I mentioned because I remembered it as I was typing the post
Also, I thought asking for help would be fine given the initial post in this forum;
a guild for homebrew. we can share homebrew with each other, give feedback on each other's homebrew, help other's create homebrew, talk about homebrew, and create mini encounters to play test homebrew.

Of course, it seems to work here...
1. Thew potentially manipulated dice rolls happen if you edit what you're rolling (eg. you roll 2d6, then relize it was supposed to be 3d6 so you edit you're post and change it)
2. You can roll dice in forum posts but it won't roll on homebrew (magic items, monsters, ect). You should just put "8d6", not the code.
3. Vial of lightning looks pretty good. My only feedback is that it's a bit powerful for a rare, so maybe reduce the initial damage to 6d6?

You never said that, and said you randomly generated on a loot table.
Anyway, I checked it an it gives me an error.
Did you remember to publish it?
