Hi. I will be beginning a new game set in modern day. Magic Does Not Exist in this world. It's been replaced by technology; for example if you cast scorching ray as an action, you would put it as "I draw my flamethrower and immolate my foes (damage: x)" or if you cast cure wounds "I put a band-aid, etc. on the gaping wound in my abdomen (health: x)."
The Story is set in 2025, and is set around The United States, and Great Britain.
I will need 6 players and they must follow the following requirements:
1. They must be in it for the long haul, I don't want people quitting at level 3, 15 or 19, I want to finish the campaign.
2. They must be able to post at least once a day.
3. They cannot be a wizard, sorcerer, warlock, druid, cleric, bard, or paladin. I want them to be light on the spellcasting.
4. Please no characters who are not human.
5. No evil alignments, I personally don't mind them, but they don't fit with this story.
6. Homebrew is allowed and may be necessary for feats, vehicles, weapons, backgrounds, and spells.
7. You start at lvl 1, but instead of any swords, you get a dagger, a shotgun or pistol, and a rifle.
8. No prior experience needed.

Rangers are the best, and have always been the best
Have you considered playing using The Regiment system? It's Powered by the Apocalypse and seems to be a much better fit for what you're trying to do. I've personally played another PbtA game (Monster of the Week) and it was a blast! Highly recommend.
I've attached a link that goes straight to the rules and playbooks.
@silvercoins, it was an example. rangers are also allowed.
2. No it is not, you must be human, but from there you have free reign
3. I don't want people to quit mid-game, as they often do, they need to recognize that i do not want to go through the hassle of recruiting multiple times, integrate new characters, and get them all on the same page, level, etc.
@Arcturos, I just want to keep it simple, yes, liberties will be taken with the original dnd game, but i'm going to leave it as is for now.
I forgot to mention, In order to keep it simple, leveling will not be by XP, rather by milestone.
I might be interested, although it does seem like a different system might work better, otherwise you'd be changing D&D so much that it wouldn't be D&D anymore.
Background: Clay was born on a ranch in Southern Texas hearing stories about how great his grandfather was as a Texas Ranger. He grew up his entire life hearing stories and learning to shoot and ride. He has now left home to pursue a life dedicated to helping people as a lawman. (Would like to talk with you to develop this out a little more to fit the story)
Ability Score: (Unsure how you want us to do this, if rolled please see below)
background: Aloysius was a soldier in the marines for 4 years until he was wrongly convicted of various war crimes that had in fact been committed by his PC. he was then discharged and started working in a nature reserve for killing pests and arresting hunters. since then he has loved the bush and will often spend weeks away from civilization.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Sorry about that first one, had drop lowest and reroll ones always; this is re-roll 1s once.
Human; Hypnotist/Combat Medic; AA-12 shotgun (00 buck, slugs and FRAG-12 ammo) and a Bowie knife
Quiller St. James spent a couple of tours with the SBS and found it too limiting, so he is branching out into independent work. He is a specialist at 'convincing' folks to do that which they would otherwise be ... hesitant to do. That and fixing up folks who need it, not to mention 'unfixing' folks that need it, too. He is quite fond mayhem, after a few slugs of good scotch, believing nothing is better for one's well being than a good brawl. But, when it comes to combat, he fights according to only one rule: there aren't any.
