The sun is almost intense in the city of Athelta this morning. Each of you wake, ready to go about your day's activities, whatever they may be, only to find a cloaked figure standing in the corner of your room. Silent. Watching. Waiting. The figure finally speaks. "Come. The Four wish to speak with you." The figure then turns and leaves. Each of you follow your respective figure, having heard the rumors of the Four. Criminal masterminds, fearsome assassins, and the leaders of the local underbelly, the Ring. It is unwise to keep them waiting, or so the rumors say. Hurrying to catch up to the figures, who lead each of you to an abandoned warehouse in the ancient market district, you hear a faint warning. "Wait here, and be polite." The figure then disappear, only to return (so it seems) with another summoned charge. First a jet black tabaxi with starling green eyes, then a hulking goliath, followed soon after by a swan-like Aarakocra. A gnome and a goblin arrive in rapid succession, followed lastly by a human in mistral's clothing. You all make quite an odd collection in the warehouse, waiting. And waiting. An hour goes by, and still you are left alone in the warehouse, waiting in silence.
Ember stands silently for the most part, twiddling with her thumbs and glancing around the warehouse. After an hour has passed, however, she sighs impatiently and turns to look at the rest of those gathered in the warehouse. She makes no effort to hide as she very obviously gives each person a thorough once over. With arms crossed and brow raised, she poses a question. "So. Anyone know why we're here or what we're supposed to do?"
"This place smells like thug. So im gonna be softening my knuckles on a few rouge skulls, surely." Iibbrr huffs, spitting at the ground. He then glares at Ember. "I'd say this is home for you."
Jadrith is leaning up against one of the walls, his giant maul placed standing hilt up on the ground next to him. Though typically calm and quiet for the first hour, patience can be seen running thin in his eyes "Why we are here I do not know, but to keep summoned guests waiting so long..." as Jadrith speaks one can hear a hint of anger start to swell from within, cutting himself short, he takes a few deep breathes to calm himself once again. "Whatever it is, probably pretty serious. Not everyday you have a meeting with the leaders of the Ring."
Eriadwyn sits patiently, eyes closed, tapping her fingers along the edge of her viol case humming the same happy tune repeatedly for the entire hour. She has the appearance of a woman whose age is hard to guess, but her long braided silver hair makes her look older.
Geex will find a dark corner of the warehouse and lean back in the corner. The dark grey leather hood is pulled up over his head, but leaves the mask on this belt where it hangs for the time being. He digs around in his satchel, before removing a thick tome with a red medical cross painted on it. He cracks it open and begins to read through it. He keeps peeking over the pages, eyeing the others. At any questions directed toward Geex, he will shake his head. I don't know what they want from me. I haven't done anything...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ember
"Well well, someone has a bit of a temper. I'm gonna take a look around. You guys can join me if you want to."She shrugs as she walks away, glancing back at Iibbrr and rolling her eyes before looking around the warehouse and seeing if there's anything that tells them why they're here.
(Rolling investigation if you need it) Investigation: 23
"The Ring, huh? Don't tell me a guy like you is scared of some skinny little thugs." Iibbrr chuckles at Jadrith. "I'll tell you what's important: 130 gold worth of goods stolen just last week. I want my money, plus interest, and the teeth of those jokers, too."
The gnome sitting on a crate, respond to Ember question "Not really I sometimes sell my wares at the underground but never been summoned by The Four until today."
Upon hearing the Arakocra comments "those *thugs* wouldn't even see your week worth of earnings as a day of pocket change, you must be either new or ignorant to your surroundings"
"Same song different beat, my hight-impaired friend, " Iibbrr smirks at the Gnome. "Regardless, wouldn't anybody be just a little bit peeved when a figure waits in his room for gods knows how long, and tells him to wait in an abandoned warehouse with a bunch of other sketchy individuals to be greeted by the leaders of a criminal, f*king underbelly!? Safe to say, I'm peeved."
Ember, you search the warehouse for the better part of 10 minutes. At first, you find only what you would expect: dusty crates filled with decaying goods, rotting straw, and spoiling meats. However, as you go further back into the warehouse, you find something far more interesting. Footprints in the layer of dust that coats the floor, leading towards a ladder to what looks like a loft-like area.
"While you guys are just standing around and twiddling your thumbs uselessly, I found something."Ember climbs the ladder and peaks into the loft area, stopping right at the top and checking from any traps that might activate if she were to actually go all the way up and into the area.
Eriadwyn stands up from the floor and saunters over to the ladder below Ember. She looks at the base of it, then looks upward at Ember's backside. "Oh aye, an' what is it y'found, lass?"
Seeing the patience tiring group start to move through the waiting area, Jadrith will walk over and join Eriadwyn waiting to hear from the curious tabaxi as to if she found anything interesting.

"A ladder leading to a loft. Might be something in here."
Perception: 10
The loft does not seem to be trapped, although you do notice that the ladder, like the rest of the warehouse, is quite old.

(Could Iibbrr fly up to the loft?)
Ember climbs up and into the loft, poking around and trying to see what's in it.

Geex will close his tome and pack it away. He stands up and walks over to the others and watches silently. The ladder does not look like a great idea.
