Weapon (shortsword), rare (requires attunement)

Tommus, always shy and retiring, didn't think he deserved a magical weapon. Larael was quick to dissuade him.

The sword deals an extra 2d6 fire damage to any target he hits. On a hit, if the target is a creature other than an undead or a construct, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or lose 1d10 hit points at the start of each of its turns. The target can reroll the save at the end of each of their turns. The effect is also removed if the target receives magical healing, or if they or an ally pass a DC 15 Medicine check.

Proficiency with a shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
