This item is a small stone circle or square, about 2 inches across and 1 cm thick, bearing an arcane rune. If you attune to this item it disappears and you gain the Mark of Frost. This is actually a mark upon your soul but will manifest physically upon your body in a place of your choosing. Whenever you complete a short rest you can move the physical mark somewhere else. This physical mark is not important - even if the flesh is scarred or removed from you the physical mark vanishes and reappears elsewhere on you if it can - again you choose where. If you lose physical form or have no place where it could reasonably show but you are still alive then it simply does not appear - you still receive the benefits regardless. The physical mark looks like a tattoo of a runic arcane symbol but will glow with a soft shimmer like the surface of ice.

While attuned to the Mark of Frost you receive the following benefits:

• Resistance to Cold and Fire damage.
• You can ignore difficult terrain caused by ice or snow.
• You can cast the cantrip Ray of Frost at-will.
• The Mark has 1 charge with which you can cast the spell Sleet Storm. The charge recovers once you have completed a Short Rest.

The Mark of Frost returns to a physical item if you unattune willingly (and not under the effects of mind control like Suggestion) or if you die. When you unattune the item appears either in your hand or in the nearest unoccupied space within 5 feet. If there is no space within 5 feet of you that this item can appear in then it is cast into the Astral Sea.
