Wondrous Item, uncommon
This robe has cloth patches of various shapes and colors covering it. While wearing the robe, you can use an action to detach one of the patches, causing it to become the object or creature it represents. Once the last patch is removed, the robe becomes an ordinary garment.
The robe has two of each of the following patches:
- Dagger
- Bullseye lantern (filled and lit)
- Steel mirror
- 10-foot pole
- Hempen rope (50 feet, coiled)
- Sack
In addition, the robe has 4d4 other patches. The GM chooses the patches or determines them randomly.

| 31-44 | Wooden ladder (24 feet long) |
| 45-51 | A riding horse with saddle bags |

Posted Apr 29, 2023It would stand to reason that this item is a magical item and would only weigh as much as a cloak. Once the patches are ripped off, they become the item the patch represents, which would only have the weight of that item once invoked.

Posted Apr 29, 2023I have a question about this item. Its obviously a magical item, so do the patches/items have a life span per say? Let's just say: if you invoke the lit lantern, how long do you have that item before it disappears, or does it just become the item permanently? If so, can you just keep the item in your inventory for reuse, if you have room to carry it?

Posted Dec 26, 2023"to become the object or creature it represents". What part of this sounds temporary? And where does it say the patches are temporary? They're just as magical as the robe, so I doubt that they decay over time.

Posted Mar 26, 2024I think that you can choose at will when it can restock. Maybe every different pocket has a different timeline before it's restocked? I think that it's not mentioned because of he 4d4 other patches that it mentions about.

Posted Jun 1, 2024Going off of the suggestions from the Dungeon Master's Guide (pg. 246-247), I'd say that the door has 10 HP and an AC of 19.

Posted Oct 3, 2024Thanks for doing the math! Now in my campaign it'll go for 2,500gp in any well-stocked magic item shop.
