Armor (half plate), common
This armor heavily protects your body, and is covered in [non-retractable!] spikes about half a foot long.
- AC 16 + your Dex modifier [max of 2]
- When damaged from unarmed blows, the attacker takes half damage [piercing, rounding up] on a hit [such as a punch, claw, or tail attack]
- When moving through difficult terrain the movement cost is doubled.
While it does protect the wearer and give it the advantage in dungeon-brawl type scenarios, the spikes make it hard moving through foliage like bushes, or crawling while prone. This is not considered a magical item, but if a DM allows the spikes on this armor to retract then it gives the armor a magical property.
Half plate consists of shaped metal plates that cover most of the wearer's body. It does not include leg protection beyond simple greaves that are attached with leather straps.
