(Also I thought it was just Estellen, Doc and Jartrin that was still up on the hill, and Violet is with Taline as part of the scouting party?)

[Lol maybe not for you! But Doc definitely doesn't want to go rushing head first into enemy territory, let alone what could now be a trap. He'll make his way over as quickly as possible and attempt to gauge the situation Quilqwen may find himself in. He's trying to use cover to his advantage (especially considering it should be nightfall by now), but he's not trying to be overtly slow and sneaky about it.]

Doc snaps his eyes open and turns his attention to the fireworks.

"That must be the signal from Quilqwen. Let's move and try to remain unnoticed for the time being."

Doc will get up and begin to make his way toward the fireworks, traveling amongst the hills and along the outskirts of the quarry.

Doc continues to keep his eyes closed, deep in meditation.

A slight smile seems to crawl across Doc's serene, meditative face as he hears the comment about emptying a boot, but only for a moment. He wriggles in his seated position and readjusts his posture as he continues to practice patience. "Your motivations and reasonings are fair, Estellen, and for that, you have my respect."

(Not that I don't like RPing Doc, but can we get a look at what Quilqwen is currently experiencing?)

Gotta tell the devs to add options for "bless" and "bane" in the dice roller. That'd be cool

OOC: Bless is an additional d4 roll for attack rolls and saving throws, so rolling a separate d4 for each attack roll and saving throw makes sense -- though I'll say you don't necessarily need to take the extra d4 if you're confident you hit right off the bat.

Jackson casts Bless at 1st level on Harukai, Nil and Sildar, continuing to use his movement to maneuver out of reach of the ghouls if necessary.

"Fair enough. I am glad to meet you, Jartrin Ephok, and I hope our goals remain aligned. As for these prisoners, I -- along with a few of the others you've already been acquainted with -- were simply seeking rest at a crossroad before we were forced into battle with a violent band of Orcs. Many from the surrounding village were taken, and I merely seek to help bring those responsible to justice."

Doc momentarily opens his eyes again and motions toward the holy symbol of Tyr emblazoned across his shield, but says no more about the symbol and reverts back to his meditative state. "Perhaps the Orc you seek is among those responsible, in which case, I'd be inclined to assist you in your current endeavor. I will say, however, that I do have my own personal task to complete, though I trust the path I've been set upon will eventually lead to some sort of resolution -- or death, should the gods see fit.

Considering what we've found in the quarry below, I'd surmise that I'm much, MUCH closer to the latter."

Satisfied with his and Estellen's initial look at the ritual circle, Doc sits on the ground, closes his eyes and begins to meditate, responding to Estellen as he does so. "I agree with the others -- if we are to be trusted, we must be able to put our trust in them. Considering the lack of troublesome commotion going on, I trust they're okay, and I will remain patient."

He opens an eye slightly as the dragonborn speaks. "Wouldn't put it past a half-orc to be open to eating everything in a forest, now that you ask," he says in response, once again closing his eyes. "Dragonborn, now that I think of it, you and I have yet to be properly acquainted! I am called Doc, as I am a healer of sorts. What of you? What is your name and expertise?"

Jackson will do what he can to maneuver around the room so that he can keep a 30ft distance away from the ghouls. He casts Toll the Dead at the ghoul Harukai hit. DC 14 WisST or [roll]1d12[/roll] necrotic damage.

Doc brings his claw up to his face and strokes his chin contemplatively, responding to Estellen, "Yeah -- I have little-to-no idea as to how we should approach this. Your estimations are as good as mine. As for the pattern of the stones...."

Doc takes out the journal and holds the sketches out in front of him, far enough so that both he and Estellen are visually able to discern any similarities between the ritual found at the temple and the camp setup currently taking place.
