    DOLAR

Dolar collects his share of the coins and collects all the equipment. He's unsure whether he'll need any of it, but his time on the plains have taught him to take everything he can. He smiles as he watches Phineas fumble with her coins, then turns away slightly to read the note. Strange as it may be, he pockets it, and turns back to see the commotion going on between Phineas and what looks to be one of the members of the City Watch.

His eyes dart directly to a wounded Yagra, whom he sees posting up against the wall. Along the way towards her, he hears Phineas' address to Durnan, and he once again grins a toothy smile at both the weird jester lady and the old barkeep. He heard what Durnan said to him earlier and took no offense, as he's actually quite fond of axes, anyway. "I appreciate your offer of untainted ale, innkeeper. This is just reward for such an occasion. I hope you could be so kind as to extend the same gesture to everyone else who risked their lives during the battle," he says, pointing a finger at Phineas.

He finally gets to Yagra and gently places his left hand on her right shoulder. "You fought both honorably and bravely, Yagra. I hope you get the rest you need, and I'm sure we will see each other again."

He turns to Siobhan. "And you! City Watchman...or Watch...woman. Watch-person?" He flusters. "Uhh I also noticed you during the fight. My respect to those who defend this grand city. I am Dolar. This is all very new to me. I wanted to mention that shortly after the battle, I found this near one of the dead men who ambushed Yagra." He hands her the note with the four names on it.

    @DarthDrizzt:

Just as an updated reminder, the note contains the following, and Dolar is unfamiliar with these names:

    Blathio Wimplewort

    Fimel Sarken

    Vanessa Mariana

    Larai Kosselweint

Yawgou continues to keep his hand on Belzaphira, casting Cure Wounds: [roll]1d8+6[/roll]. "You took quite the hit, my friend. Welcome back. We should find a safe place to set camp and regroup. Where is Bear and Astra?"

    OOC:

That's my second and last spell slot at 1st level, so a long rest would be optimal.

    OOC:

We'll assume that by this time, Jackson has already shaken Nil's hand and introduced himself to Koren.

"Ahh Gundren, it is very nice to see you -- no matter the whereabouts or circumstances. And to you, Sildar, I bid you greetings. By the looks of you, I'd guess you and I are around the same age. It's an absolute pleasure to be in the midst of another veteran," he says, standing up out of his seat to greet both of them. "While you and I are not familiar in any way, I trust you to keep poor Gundren here safe. Tyr knows -- he's not as agile as he once was!"

He looks the contract over, nods, then motions towards the group sitting around the table. "As for us lot, we've all been getting acquainted -- though the Tabaxi...has yet to say a word. I will add, though, that while I certainly agree to everything on this contract, I can't guarantee all 30 pounds of your salted pork will get there safely!" he says laughing, almost wheezing.

He then sits back down and motions to the barkeep. "Herbal tea, if you have it. By Tyr, this chain mail will be the death of me."

Jackson turns to the dragonborn, gently grinning. "Ah never you mind, young one. Merely brushing up on my angel-speak. What might your name be?"

    GREYSTONE

    Quote from Scott_R_Simmons >>

Looking up from his simple fare, he remarks, ”Thank you for agreeing to let me accompany you, Brother Greystone.  While productive, my time spent illuminating the Triad’s manuscripts has left me itching to stretch my legs.”

Jackson turns his attention away from the door and towards Harukai. "Of course, Harukai. In fact, the more the merrier,"  he says as he makes a fist and rather gently hits the table. "But yes -- I very much recall spending much of my youth contemplating the readings. As enlightening as they are, I was by no means born a holy man, and therefore was also subject to similar...itches."

Jackson picks his Warhammer up and cradles it with both of his hands. Smiling now, he says "Just remember that while it is Torm who asks us to stick to our duties and Ilmater who expects us to endure and persevere...it is Tyr who calls us to take action when it is fit! And now, I think, is as fit a time as any."

    Quote from TRS_Red >>

Looking around at the group Nilaprin checks his gear for the 3rd time this minute, glancing back and forth between the door and the group.

"So what brings you all here? I myself come seeking glory and companions."

Jackson turns away from Harukai momentarily to answer Nilaprin, saying, "Then you are in the right place, my friend. I am Jackson, by the way. Jackson Greystone."

He turns back to Harukai, then nods towards the small Dragonborn sitting with them. Switching from Common to Celestial, he says to Harukai: "A bit small, eh?"

Yawgou looks for Belzaphira, dodging around the rest of the stampede (Athletics: [roll]1d20+2[/roll]) in his attempt to find her.

Seeing her on the ground, unmoving, he lays one of his hands on her, and whispers under his breath, "Pelor, lend her your strength," as he casts Spare the Dying to stabilize her.

(I can still make the Medicine check if needed: [roll]1d20+5[/roll])

(Oh yeah that nat 20 will do)

    DOLAR

Dolar bumps into Phineas while each of them search the bodies. "Oops -- it appears we both had the same idea! I'm Dolar, by the way," he says, grinning a toothy smile. "I noticed you were one of the ones who stayed behind to help in the battle. What say you about us splitting whatever we find between you, me and...whomever I saw you talking to over there."

    Persuasion: [roll]1d20+1[/roll]

    OOC for @SheepsSong:

Didn't know if I had to roll earlier for looting. Just gonna roll an investigation check and see what happens. If I need to change it to Perception or Sleight of Hand, let me know.

    DOC

Doc replies to the barkeep in a serene, soft voice, "The fact you've seen one at all...is strange news to me." Doc then turns to the price list, and his eyes widen in complete shock.

He shifts his arm around his bag to find his purse and opens it to see his 5GP. As a Tortle, he's no stranger to sleeping in his shell, but he was definitely hoping for a warm room to sleep in. Though he makes no plans to lodge at the inn, he does appreciate having a seat on which to rest for a while...and who can say no to free food? "Barkeep...if your staff could put together...a plate of vegetables for me...I would be incredibly grateful." He sits in wait patiently, pulling out the letter in his bag and wondering whether he should take a peek.

But the temptation subsides, and he puts the letter back into his bag.

    GREYSTONE

OOC: At 55, Jackson Greystone is a bit old to be still adventuring, but the Human Cleric still has a job to do, and that's to protect the people and serve justice on behalf of The Maimed God, Tyr. When his old friend Gundren had asked him to accompany a group of supply runners, he couldn't refuse; after all, the journey south can be treacherous, and the journeymen -- no matter how able-bodied -- will likely need a Cleric along the way. While the grey-haired Greystone may be on the last leg of his life, he still packs a punch, and his 6'8 stature still towers over many. A religious man, he can be quite the superstitious type, and he'll often relate everything he or anyone else says back to Tyr. However, he's still a patient and understanding person, acting as a father-figure to those in need.

Unfortunately, he's no longer the hulking figure he once was, and his Chain Mail seems to scrape across the floor. Nevertheless, enemies best not underestimate him and his trusty Warhammer, though it's unlikely anyone will get past his Shield.

Sitting in wait, Greystone peers over everyone in the tavern. A sober man, he doesn't partake in any drink, instead just sitting patiently waiting for Gundren to show up.

"By Tyr! Where is this dwarf?" he mutters under his breath.

    DOLAR

Dolar will take a deep breath as he allows his Rage to subside, hopping off the table and back onto the floor of the Yawning Portal. First and foremost a warrior, he knows when credit is due. He picks up one of the random cups from one of the nearby tables and raises it towards Durnan. "That's quite the sword you have there, innkeeper, and you are surprisingly quite the swordsman! You have a warrior's respect, though I must say it's a shame such a blade is unlikely to see any action outside of these walls! I would be honored to lay down my axe were you to offer your sword as a reward for today's battle!" he says half-jokingly.

He drinks out of the cup and immediately makes a sour face. "How foul! Some of that troll must have fallen into this!" he thinks.

He nevertheless raises the glass again to everyone remaining in the tavern. "And to all those who fought bravely this night. You, too, have this warrior's respect...and gratitude." He pretends to take another drink from the cup before slamming it down on the table.

He then proceeds to go to the bodies of the dead patron and the dead (dying?) thug to search for loot while everyone else unwinds from the battle.

    DOC

"Ahhhhh...finally," Doc whispers to himself as he pauses on his path, seeing what appears to be the Deford Inn. While still considered to be rather young for a Tortle, Doc is never one to be in a rush, waddling slowly -- but confidently -- towards what he hopes to be an optimal place to rest. Holding his trusty shield in his left hand, he reaches into the sack he has secured under his right arm, ensuring he's still in possession of the letter he is tasked to deliver. He then takes a moment to re-center his brown loin cloth and dust off his brown, scaly skin, peering back West at the road he's traveled to get here.

He places his hand over the holy symbol of Tyr that's etched into his shield and mutters a prayer to The Wounded One, in hopes the inn is both quiet and affordable.

    DOLAR

Feeling some of his vitality restored, Dolar roars at the troll, yelling "I'LL BE WITH YOU SHORTLY!" He's first going to take an attack at the remaining stirge next to him (still Raging).

    Action -- Attack: [roll]1d20+6[/roll] Damage: [roll](if([roll:-1:critical], =0, 1d12, 2{1d12}.expand()))+6[/roll]

Movement -- If Dolar kills the remaining stirge, he's going to want to get into a position that allows him to attack the troll...so he's gonna hop on the table. He sees the troll engaged with Durnan, telling the inn's proprietor, "KEEP IT BUSY!"
