Hello Stephan, do you take a player new to Roll20? I went through the tutorial and that's about it. Thank you.

Anyone who's interested is welcome to apply, regardless of overall skill with Roll20. No worries ;)

posted a message on LF 4-5 players for my new 5e game, Tales of Faerûn: Heroes of Men and Monsters!

    Game: D&D 5e
Group type: Online on Roll20 (Click for Details)
Experience: Any experience with 5e is welcome.
Location/Timezone: Canada EDT, though all are welcome!
Schedule: Weekly on Saturdays at 9:00pm, beginning on April 20th. Recruiting period ends April 6th, and Session 0 will be scheduled for April 13th.
    Roles sought: 4-5 players.
    Game style:

    Premise & Setting:
This will be a campaign that I intend to have a good mix of combat and roleplay, set within the Forgotten Realms of Faerûn. My current plan is to use the first chapter of Storm King’s Thunder as the launchpad for this campaign, while incorporating my own homebrew elements, as well as custom stuff taken from the backstories provided to me by the party. As with any good story, your actions will affect how your adventure ultimately unfolds, so feel free to be as creative with your character builds and backstories as you wish.

    DM:
I’m Stephan, and if you’re comfortable playing with a fairly novice-level DM, then you’re more than welcome to join! Most of my actual DM’ing experience comes from running a few games on various PbP forums. I have attempted to DM on Roll20 once before, but DM’ing in real-time over the internet is still something I’m working on getting good at. Here’s hoping that will be a learning experience for all of us. ;)

Thanks, and I hope to talk to some of you soon!

Oh! I actually just thought of something. Stop me if this has already been suggested before.

Is there any possibility that the homebrew aspect of DnDB will be expanded to include the creation of monster TEMPLATES? By templates, I mean something you can apply to other creatures, such as half-dragons, dracoliches, shadow dragons or spore servants.

Hmm....couldn't help but notice that both Mariutti82 and Hero_of_Holios have submitted a homebrew creature with the exact same name (Wood Golem). Will there be anything in place to prevent people from submitting homebrew creations with the exact same name as current homebrew content that has already been submitted and approved?

    Awesome news!

Quick question though: What's gonna happen to all the homebrew stuff we've been submitting during this beta phase? Is it gonna get wiped? Or is D&D Beyond gonna keep all the current user-submitted homebrew content after it transitions to its full release state?

It'd be a bit of a pain if we all had to resubmit our custom content after the beta phase ends.

All the currently created Homebrew will still be there through launch!
Oh cool! Just wanted to double-check about that, just in case that was a thing that might happen. Thanks! ^_^

Hello, here are a few things that have come up for me, apologies if already mentioned:

    1. The various notes boxes in the monster creator exhibit some odd behvaiour and missing features on iPad. Note that this may only apply to the iOS 11 beta, in which case please disregard:

    - After scrolling to roughly the bottom of the ‘Features’ box, any use of the arrow keys on a keyboard attached to the iPad will jump the scroll position for the whole page about as well as moving the cursor

    - Text selection seems finicky - occasionally words will not select, the cursor will not draw, etc.

    - Keyboard shortcuts for bold and so forth don’t work.

    2. I would like a way to distinguish between unique NPCs and monsters. This applies also to the monster listing.

    3. There is no way to add a custom damage resistance/immunity/vulnerability, you can only select from existing ones.

    4. Text pasted in seems to have incorrect line spacing. I am not sure line spacing can actually be edited in these boxes, so it seems that it should be stripped out automatically.

As an addendum to this, it would also be nice to be able to add custom monster tags.

this is great thank you for the hard work.

    nots.

please add a way to rate the homebrew content. because some of it is just .... over the top ponkers XD

and please add a way to give feedback to the creators . either publicly or privately. you think that one threw you are much smarter than me :D. but dont forgit to add a report system if a comment is too mean :)

Yeah, this would be a good addition to implement later down the line.

So for some reason today, I'm now getting an "internal server error" whenever I select the option to create a monster from scratch. Now I have to use an existing monster as a template in order to make any monster.

This is fixed now, Clockwerk66. Thanks for reporting!
     Thanks a bunch!
By the way, I also have two monsters in my "Homebrew Creations" named "Cracious" and "Glorious", and for some reason both of them are giving me internal server errors whenever I try to expand their details. Not sure what's up with that. :/

I am trying to add monster tags to some of my homebrew creatures, but the area (shown in your screencaps to be next to the avatar selection) isn't present in my UI.

Same for me too. Is there something we're missing?
