Well, that's not quite accurate. Basically you're home brewing that. Technically the answer should be 'no, you can't'. I have a half-orc Necromancer wizard who I refuse to remake as 5.5e...because you you can't. You are going to be bastardising the rule sets and winging it. While I genuinely like most of the 5.5e changes, they are NOT as compatible as spruiked. Until Necromancer becomes a 5.5e subclass the answer is no. It apparently is in the works and I look forward to it, but until then you have only Evocation, Divination, Illusion, and Abjuration to choose from.
WOTC designed 5.5e to be backwards compatible with 5e. Unless your DM has any restrictions on using subclasses from older books (and this is not 6e, but 5.5e), you should be able to use it perfectly fine.
Consult with your DM before usage. If allowed, get the spells Glyph of Warding and Revivify, probably from Cleric. Get 500 gp's worth of diamond dust, then make the glyph so when you die, it cast Revivify on you. (Forge Domain is recommended to actually buy the dust with Artisan's Blessing) And now you can have as many lives as remaining totems there are.

I have a few solutions.
Outlaw guns in the area they are in.
Make his gun explode.
Have a talk with your player about this. Most of the time this fixes a lot of issues and gives them your perspective on this.
Just let them do it. D&D is not about winning or losing, but having fun.

If you want to be the funniest, play a Mountain Dwarf Wizard for light and medium armor proficiency, along with a few weapons.

They took the full force of the damage plus damage from interior injuries.

Thanks for all of your feedback. Just for reference, my DM enjoys having crazy overpowered builds because it can alter the story in funny ways.

Yes, it is starting at first level

I am running a solo campaign with a warforged Sorlockadin (Warlock+Sorcerer+Paladin) and I have no clue for the plot. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks for the feedback!

No, it does not. Glyph of Warding does not mention anything about range in the spell glyph

1. That is true
2. A long rest is never required
3. Tasha's Caustic Brew with a second level slot does 4d4 acid, along with other spells
4. Sorlock is not for spamming eldritch blast, it is to gain infinite spell slots. A lot of spells are for flavor purposes
5. A lot of spells are for flavor purposes. Burning Hands and Firebolt are because he is very close to fire.

I wish for this campaign to be in 4e
