No WOTC doesn't ''hate poison'' however lots of supernatural creatures would resist poison

How i'm reading it is that the creature loses its reaction and can't do anything on its turn

The most players I've played with outside of one oneshot is two. I play one on one with my friend on a regular basis (What I've found works is low RP campaigns with 3-5 PCs all under one players control works quite well) and one on two with my mum and sister (for that I just give them all the xp from the adventure so they level up a bit faster, I also recently added my own DMPC to they're party as well as an owlbear called boof that they befriended)

"a hard encounter for a party of four 8th-level adventurers" - let's face it. A CR 9 enemy is pretty easy even for a level 5 party, and the CR 2 panther will barely be noticed by any party above level 2.
CR is a joke. I recently pitted a CR 9 abominable yeti against a level 5 party. He surprised them, and still they beat him in under 18 seconds (less than 3 rounds).I do find it interesting to see Drizzt with a monster stat. He is usually done using PC rules.
I agree, my party of four level 6 PCs managed to kill a Pit Fiend. it took a while but they did it
How?? Was the Pit Fiend strapped to an altar with unbreakable chains and in a coma?
No just lucky rolls, invisibility and use of terrain
You have a really, really inexperienced DM if four level six characters defeated a CR 20 Pit Fiend. Just leave it at that.
Btw, Pit Fiends have truesight, which can see invisible creatures. And "use of terrain" doesn't matter when the creature can fly. So...yeah...probably just best to leave this one alone. ;)And fireball at will + fire immunity. I mean..
Ok
Firstly: I was DMing and I find that quite offensive
Secondly: ok, I think I might have forgotten about truesight
Thirdly: by use the terrain I mean hiding behind stuff and shooting spells at it
Fighting a pit fiend would never be JUST a pit fiend. These are powerful devils who are only beneath only the archdukes of Hell. They command armies of devils. They are inquisitors and administrators of Hell over entire layers of Hell. A properly played pit fiend would have a number of lesser devil soldiers and servitors imo. These are 22 Int creatures. The DM should play these devils very intelligently, with tactics, ambushes, minions, etc. Properly played, a group of level 6 characters has zero chance against a CR 20 pit fiend.
If there is a pit fiend facing a group of level 6 characters, I would assume they are supposed to either run or make a deal with the pit fiend. That the DM placed the pit fiend there for some story purpose, NOT a combat purpose. Because fighting the pit fiend would be suicide.
Sorry man, that's just the truth.Yeah I probably didn't play the pit fiend to its greatest potential
PS: it's the pit fiend in BGDiA, the one you see when you leave elterel

This is utter rubbish.
I already gain quite a lot by being a subscriber, and now this! New backdrops? Animated frames? Without increasing the price for the subscription? Preposterous!
I love you guys! =)...Now. Give us the draconic-themed dice I know you've been hoarding without everyone else's knowledge ;)
Yes I want those to.
PS I really like d&d beyond and would like to thank you as well
