One D&D and the 2024 Core Rulebooks
Wizards Presents brought us the biggest news to come to Dungeons & Dragons in nearly a decade. One D&D is the code name for three initiatives shaping the next generation of the tabletop roleplaying game. As part of One D&D, we’re…
- Updating and expanding on the existing rules of the game, culminating in the release of the 2024 core rulebooks
- Improving D&D Beyond, which serves as the digital front door to D&D and is home to your collection of digital books
- Building out the D&D Digital Play Experience, which is in early development but will serve as a virtual play space that’s integrated with D&D Beyond.
More on the 2024 Core Rulebooks
The 2024 core rulebooks will be backwards compatible, allowing you to continue enjoying the adventures and supplements you play with today. Our goal is to evolve the game in a way that reflects what players have told us they love and that makes it as versatile as them.
The 2024 core rulebooks are now in playtesting, with new drops of content dropping roughly every month. With each round of Unearthed Arcana materials, we’ll gather feedback from players like you to help refine the game.
To access playtest materials, you’ll need to unlock them for your D&D Beyond account. Sign in and then unlock playtesting by going to the UA claim page. Once you've unlocked playtesting, you can access the latest Unearthed Arcana materials by going into the UA compendium, found under the "Sources" menu.
For answers to all your burning One D&D questions, check out the FAQ page. And to keep up with the latest news on playtest materials for the 2024 core rulebooks, update your email preferences to permit communications from D&D Beyond.
A Dragonlance Book and Board Game on the Horizon
A war looms ahead, and you’ve answered the call to arms. Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen is D&D’s action-packed return to the world of Krynn. The book will not only offer a brand-new Dragonlance story, it will offer new player options that help you better immerse yourself in this unique setting.
The adventure book will be supplemented by the Dragonlance: Warriors of Krynn board game, made in collaboration with renowned board game designers Stephen Baker and Rob Daviau. The board game takes players and their Dungeon Master into an epic battle experience that coordinates with the written adventure. However, the game isn’t at all required in order to play the D&D adventure.
Preorders for Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen and Dragonlance: Warriors of Krynn have kicked off! These products represent the first time D&D has offered physical and digital bundles. You can read more about that in the product bundling FAQ. Want to learn more about the setting itself? Check out our Dragonlance primer!

Drizzt Is Turning 35
In 2023, we're celebrating 35 years of Drizzt in three big ways!
First, each eBook and audiobook from R.A. Salvatore's Legend of Drizzt series will be released with special 35th anniversary covers. Next, we have the forthcoming visual dictionary The Legend of Drizzt, which will take readers on a voyage across the Forgotten Realms with stunning new artwork depicting the iconic drow and the Companions of the Hall.
Finally, we're launching a family web comic on WEBTOON that follows Drizzt's young daughter, Brie, as she seeks to prove her worth as a hero! That story is written by Purpah—known for Suitor Armor—with guidance from R.A. Salvatore!

Michael Galvis (@michaelgalvis) is a tabletop content producer for D&D Beyond. He is a longtime Dungeon Master who enjoys horror films and all things fantasy and sci-fi. When he isn’t in the DM’s seat or rolling dice as his anxious halfling sorcerer, he’s playing League of Legends and Magic: The Gathering with his husband. They live together in Los Angeles with their adorable dog, Quentin.
So excited! I can’t wait to watch!
đź‘Ť
diverse & colorful; cant wait!!
hype before the hype. I love it!
Jimmy Wong from The Command Zone is on this news thingy? I AM SO PUMPED FOR THIS!
Magic AND D&D?!?! so excited
OMG my fave youtubers are in this?!?! I CANT WAIT!!
Will absolutely have a MTG setting announced in this
Looking forward to this - really hoping now that D&D Beyond is out of the wrong hands it has a chance to get back on track, use it's potential and become the VTT we have been wanting for what seems to be ages in the software development industry. 'Encounter Builder' is *still* in BETA? Nah, it's fine. Let's offer another virtual dice set for sale instead.
[REDACTED]
I hope this is something good, although I'm sure most people just want the Dev Updates back
yikes
We want 201!
Will it be available on YouTube right after?
Question, is there going to be a VOD of this stream? I can't watch this that day. Sadly, also are you going to be releasing another feywild adventure? I have Wild Beyond the Witchlight, and love it, was just wondering.
Awesome youtubers!
they should add a faerun calander for dungeon masters and add important dates from the campaign books
aaah man you hit the point here! 100 % agree.
Can have fortine for your help
And I wonder fortine helping with yourself and I went going to be okay
Brilliant idea - especially for players and groups that very much enjoy and don't mind using Faerun as the backdrop for their campaigns, either WOTC or homebrew/one-shot types. There's so much lore to be experienced no matter what age the setting is.
If they're smart and want to sell more books - the events in the calendar link to the references of the books they are published in.
