Michael Galvis (@michaelgalvis) is a tabletop content producer for D&D Beyond. He is a longtime Dungeon Master who enjoys horror films and all things fantasy and sci-fi. When he isn’t in the DM’s seat or rolling dice as his anxious halfling sorcerer, he’s playing League of Legends and Magic: The Gathering with his husband. They live together in Los Angeles with their adorable dog, Quentin.
I've been playing D&D video games most of my life, from the original Baldurs Gate & Icewind Dale to Planescapes Torment and more recently Baldurs Gate 3 but I recall the first time I played tabletop D&D like it were yesterday, It was around 7 years ago, I was 37 Years old and a friend asked me if I would like to join a game with him and another friend, My initial reaction was "No way nerd" but I decided to give it a try and about an hour later I was in love with the game
7 Years later I am DM'ing my first ever campaign with a group of lads I had previously been playing in campaign with for about 4 years and I'm loving every second of it, it brings out a creative side that had been dormant since my early teens my only regret is that I wish I'd started playing sooner
this is amazinggggggggg
Release dates! Looks like September is when my campaign is revving back up.
Gonna need to play some small adventures until then...
whens the online tabletop?
Lord Shaxx approves.
Soooo... when is the special edition boxed set coming out for the 3 core books with a new dungeon master screen. Seems like 2025 by the looks of things.
Is there any chance for ukrainian localization of core books? We have fan-made 5e SRD translation, but better to have player handbook
Thank you Michael.
In the future. At some point this year we should get some stuff for it, but the full release will be 2025.
Nice! Love wallpapers!
D&D, ALL i ask is that the lego set is a modular dungeon, please, it would be such a good idea to have something like that
I'm getting an empty zip file when I download the wallpaper
Hello.
Will there be a way to buy Making of Original DnD in EU??? Because as far as i know its not possible from amazon link provided. Not even pre-order.
That wallpaper would make a good character sheet background.
Seems like my DM books are gonna need upgrades now.
tho that staircase one interests me, I keep thinking of Mario 64
Oooooo true
3.5E and 4E into Creative Commons would also help celebrate
The game I want to play is in World of Greyhawk. Will you please release a world book for that setting? For the 50th anniversary I would have thought you would give a nod to that world and Blackmoor. You have the old modules in 5e material, why not the worlds they came from? My first games were in 74 as a young boy and I would love to have seen updates for these worlds as a homage and expansion for new players.
Really excited for all this! Returned to the hobby after a couple decade hiatus and having a lot of fun dming 5e.
Any word yet on how Beyond will be handling the new vs old core rules/ books? Will all the tools be updated to only offer 2024 options? A toggle for which rules we want to use? Will our old books be available still or updated to the new versions? Or will we have to buy the new books (I expect so, and have zero issue with doing so - I'm more just curious how it all will work here.)
