This looks amazing!
so cool cant wait
This is going to be an awesome book
I still want a weapon/armor rework to make each weapon more unique and have their own uses. I'm sick of there being literally no mechanical difference between a battleaxe and a longsword, or a glaive and a halberd or a war pick and morningstar. It also makes no sense that the quarterstaff could be wielded one handed at all.
Edit: I was wrong about the quarterstaff part.
Very excited! Cannot wait.
That is defiantly true, but it could have a narrative impact.
This looks so good! Sad I had to choose this or rime, but I couldn't skip this. Tell me your fave part of this below!
Sidekicks because of the creativity they enable.
I personally really like the 3.5e rules for different weapons having different rules for critical hits, e.g. swords crit on 19-20 and axes deal 3x damage dice on a crit. I know that throws a massive wild card into combat, but I like it. It's realistic and gritty. I want me some historically accurate mechanics, thank you. And studded leather doesn't ******* exist. A coat of plates could function identically.
I'm so excited! I've been wanting another version of XGtE ever since I had finished reading XGtE. I can't wait!!!
Studded leather doesn't exist...but nether do goblins, or wizards....or most of the things in D&D...so...your point?
But we already have Xanarthar's Guide to Everything. Here are some better names:
- Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Else
- Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Xanathar Forgot
- Tasha's Cauldron of Stuff She's Interested In
- Tasha's Cauldron of Tasha
- Tasha's Cauldron of Everything You Can Find Under a Log in the Forest
Sorry. That wasn't my main point. I don't actually have anything against it; that was just a small part of my rant.
As someone who has wielded a staff one-handed before, I can confirm that it is possible. It's simply easier to do with two hands, and usually the more complex maneuvers (and many basic) need two hands.
Ok
Would be great if they gave us some bonuses for pre-ordering like they do with other books. It would add some nice detail to the background and layout options specific to owning it prior to it being released.
You do get preorder bonuses, you just don't get them until the book releases.
yeah but I think the main reason these are different weapons in the first place is for flavor.
Don’t get me wrong: I am personally counting down the days until this comes out because SO MUCH NEW STUFF
LIKE PUZZLE GUIDES I AM SO EXCITED I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED PUZZLE GUIDES AND ALSO SO MUCH OTHER COOL STUFF XANATHAR FORGOT
But here are some more alternate names:
Tasha’s Cauldron of More Stuff
Tasha’s Cauldron of Epic Lore
Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything Wizards Could Come Up With By The Deadline
Tasha’s Cauldron of Soup
Battle axes arent finesse.
Glaives are heavy.
You can poke with a quaterstaff.
