Homebrew Kruthic Race Details

Kruthics are chitin-covered reptiles that live in sprawling subterranean warrens. They are attracted to sources of heat, such as dwarven forges and pools of molten lava, and carve out lairs as close to such locations as possible. As they burrow through the earth, they leave behind tunnels--evidence that is often the first clue to the nearby presence of a kruthic hive. Kruthics also make preexisting underground chambers, incorporating them into their lairs when they can.

 

 

 

 

Kruthic Traits

Kruthics have the following racial traits.

Abiltity Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Strength or Constitution score increases by 1.

Age.

Kruthic mature at six months and have roughly seven more years of living.

Alignment.

You tend towards no particular alignment.

Size.

Kruthics average over 6 feet tall, and grow up to eight feet. Your size is medium.

Speed.

Your base walking speed is 40 feet. Due to your sharp claws you also have a burrowing speed of 20 feet, and a climbing speed of 40 feet.

Languages.

You can speak, read, and write Kruthic. If you spend a long rest learning Common you can speak, read and write it.

Darkvision.

You can see in dim light as if it were bright light, and darkness as if it were dim light for 60 feet.

Tremorsense

You can pinpoint tremors in a 60 foot radius.

Keen smell.

You have advantage on Wisdom (perception) checks that rely on smell.

Pack Tactics.

You have advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Tunneler.

You can burrow through solid rock at half your burrowing speed, leaving a tunnel 5 feet in diameter in your wake.

Stab.

Your claw like legs are a natural weapon. Instead of an unarmed strike, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 plus your dexterity modifier.

Monstrosity

Your creature type is monstrosity.
