Homebrew Schale Race Details

The result of cohesion between the gifted blacksmiths and a strong Wizards of Senoval, these magical servants are a remarkable sight. Molded into the vague appearance of man with earthen skin and metal frames. When created, the will of the schale is bound to a control rod, a magical rod which projects the will of the holder into the bound schale.

The components for the spell are expensive and often the only ones which have these servants are those in wealth. The schale could look as diverse as there are available materials and often reflect the one who commissioned it.

While it’s not common, it’s not unheard of for these magical constructs to be defective and owners have lost the ability to control them through their control rod. And, depending on the commands given to the Schale, there could be fatal consequences. Rogue schales are a tale of horror and are avoided and feared, if not hunted, in most cases.

The name of the schale is as diverse as there are languages and reflect the origin of the one who commissioned it. It is popular, however, to name them after minerals.

Schale Traits

Your schale character has a variety of natural abilities, in common with other schales.

Multipurpose

Each schale is designed to the needs of their commissioner, however, they are also built to fit a variety of roles. Each schale can absorb weapons into their forearm, receiving the stats of the weapon. With the right training, a schale can learn to absorb two weapons which operate as two-weapon fighting (two-weapon fighting restrictions apply). The damage type of the weapon is converted into Bludgeoning upon being absorbed, receiving any bonuses as if equipped (including bonus damage, i.e. extra fire damage). Due to the design, only one weapon (or one per arm in the case of two weapon fighting) can be absorbed at a time and if another absorbed, the previous stats are removed.
