Homebrew Time Lord (Gallifreyan) Race Details

He never raised his voice. That was the worst thing. The fury of the Time Lord. And then we discovered why - why this Doctor, who had fought with gods and demons, why he'd run away from us and hidden. He was being kind.

The Time Lords are a humanoid species, and inhabitants of the planet Gallifrey, who are most famous for the creation and attempted monopolization of time travel technology. Immensely long-lived due to their ability to regenerate their bodies when killed, they created and upheld the Laws of Time.

The Lords of Time

Time Lords, in addition to their mastery of time travel, are able to see the flow of time, and instinctually attempt to avoid events that must happen for the universe to continue on. Time Lords see themselves as purveyors of the universe, often bringing them at odds with species that would seek to upset the flow of time.

Two Hearts, Thirteen Lives

The Time Lord species is unique in having two hearts, even if they only need one to live. While this inherently makes them more difficult to kill for those who are unaccustomed to this fact, many in the universe believe that this second heart leads Time Lords to be a highly emotional species, being prone to rage, passion, and heartbreak.

Additionally, Time Lords have the ability to regenerate their bodies when they die. While a risky endeavor if performed in the throws of combat, these extra lives granted to their species come with a complete change in appearance, and often involve shifts in personality.

Galactic Nemesis

The Time Lords affinity for exploration and passion for life often set them against powerful enemies. Historically, Time Lords have been involved in many galactic wars across the universe, and this trail of destruction has sent many of them onto the path of pacifism. Despite this shift in direction, many of the enemies they have made in the past still seek out Time Lords to destroy them, and many wandering Time Lords are known throughout the universe for their deeds, either good or ill.
