Homebrew Scario Race Details

Deep inside the mountains, where the only source of illumination is the shimmering light of the flowing magma rivers.
This is where the Scarios live and thrive.
Scarios look almost like husks, as they have almost no water in their bodies, their skin is of a dark gray almost black color appearing to be scorched earth, as you look closer, it is possible to notice the wisps of harmless, odorless smoke rising from their skins.

As they grow older, cracks begin to appear in their skin, and more smoke comes from them, which makes the Scario elders look like walking smog.

Their eyes glow in a shimmering light, as the magic within their bodies allow them to see far away in the darkness where they reside. The few of them wander to the surface, quickly realize that their eyes weren't meant for the bright light of the sun, since it was harder to discern details.

Wondrous Connoisseur

Unknown to most of the surface world, a small group of bright Scarios stared developing a technology that uses gems to fuel their machines, making weapons and gadgets never seen before.

There are rumours that a strange glow can be seen at night in different places of the world. Travelers who come close dare not to speak about what they saw in details, as no one with a sane mind would believe in a place where even the most ungifted being could use magic artifacts without a problem.

Beard's Trust

Dwarves hold grudges for far longer than any of the races. Despite that, Scarios and Dwarves have a long history of trade and commerce as the magic craft and knowledge of the Scarios is useful to Dwarves as well as the stone and forge knowledge of the Dwarves is of great help to the Scarios.

As the Dwarves are usually intermediating the contact from Scarios to the surface races, their view is almost the same regarding other races, although Scarios are much faster to overlook prejudice and give a chance to redemption to new people.

Whenever you make a History, Investigation or Arcana check related to Wondrous Items, you are considered proficient in the skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.

You have resistance to fire damage. Wisps of harmless, odorless smoke rise from your skin.
