Homebrew Kryptonian Race Details

Hailing from the late planet of Krypton, Kryptonians are a powerful and highly advanced species, which possess technology thousands of years ahead of anything the inhabitants of Earth possess. Their technology varies usually in type, one such technology consists of highly advanced crystals, known as sunstone. The crystals are able to grow at such a fast rate when exposed to water and can be used to make continents, cities, vehicles and even weapons, as well as house and process data in the thousands and possible millions range. Another type is liquid geo, which is a multi-purpose technology, able of forming solid constructs instantly, including 3 dimensional shapes and even as a means of communication. They also possess fibers in their clothes which are virtually impervious to the effects of virtually anything, however some things have been known to damage these fibers. Another factor that distinguishes them from humans aside from their technological advancement and their physical identical human qualities, comes in the form of their physical powers under the effects of a yellow or blue sun and a lesser gravity.

Their society consists of a utopia, where the Kryptonians consider themselves as a superior race. Many of them are highly xenophobic, however some Kryptonians are more considerate of other lifeforms. Each family of the species are usually within a singular house. These houses consist of those who are considered highly respectable in the political and progressive aspects of their society. Such houses include the House of El, House of Zod and even the House of Em. Their religion is that of a polytheistic beliefs, where their chief god is Rao, the sun god. Rao is also the name of the massive red sun Krypton orbits, which is named after him. Though Kryptonians possess a utopian society, there are still those who are willing to break the law. These said individuals are sent to another dimensional plain known as the Phantom Zone. The Phantom Zone was discovered by Jor-El and the Kryptonian people would use this area as a prison. Kryptonians who possess inhuman powers under a yellow or blue sun, possess none of their powers within this prison, as there is no natural solar source.

Kryptonian language and numbers are based in hieroglyphs, which can sometimes be referred to as "Kryptonese" or simply "Kryptonian". Like Humans, Kryptonians are able to reproduce sexually and have children, however later generations would dub this a crime. Instead of reproducing naturally, Kryptonians preferred to genetic engineer their children and select their place within their society as a scholar, warrior, etc. Though this is a common practice, doesn't mean that everybody will give up natural reproduction.

Despite their powers however, Kryptonians are vulnerable to several things:

• Kryptonite: A radioactive piece of the Kryptonian homeworld, Kryptonite comes in many colors with many effects. The most common form however is green and all forms come in a crystal form. When a Kryptonian is exposed to the radioactive properties of the element, they begin feeling weak and drained and begin losing their powers. This is due to the solar energy in their cells is being replaced with the radioactive energy of the element. Prolonged exposure is fatal to them. The only thing that can protect them from the element is the effects of lead.
• Magic: Kryptonians are powerful, however their biomatrix cannot process the chaotic effects of magic. Magic causes disruption in their bio-electric aura, which can cause physical damage to them.
• High-Pitched Noise: As Kryptonians are known for their superhuman hearing, their ears are extremely sensitive to high frequency noise.
• Chi: As Kryptonians obtain their powers from the sun, it is believed that planetary based esoteric and vital powers can effect and even kill them.
• Solar Energy Dependency: As Kryptonians gain their powers from the effects of a yellow or blue sun, they must maintain their exposure to such an external source. Exposure to the effects of a red sun however, negates their abilities and are therefore just as weak and frail as a normal human.

Kryptonian Traits

Kryptonian Physiology: Under the effects of a yellow or blue sun, Kryptonians possess many powers and abilities which would be considered god-like to primitive species.

Heat Vision

Coming from their ability to absorb solar energy, Kryptonians are capable of dispensing such energy from their eyes in either invisible beams at low heat, or visible red-orange beams at intense heat.

Super Breath

A Kryptonian's lungs are capable of intaking much more air than a normal human being, so they can intake and compress such an amount, that they can produce hurricane-force winds when dispensing it. This ability can also be applied to cooling the air to sub-zero temperatures and therefore allow the user to freeze an object or even person.

X-Ray Vision

Kryptonians are capable of seeing through virtually all kinds of surfaces, ranging from organic tissue, solid brick, stone, steel and other things. The only thing however that is immune to this ability is lead, which is too dense for x-rays to penetrate.

Invulnerability

Kryptonians possess a denser molecular structure to humans, however it is enhanced by a supercharged bio-electric aura. The aura acts as a close-to-skin forcefield and causes anything hitting the user to break or bounce off their bodies. This ability also makes them virtually immune to all kinds of poisons, as well as diseases and even the effects of space.

Their invulnerability however cannot protect against the harmful effects of Kryptonite, magic, chi, psionics or the effects of a red sun.

Enhanced Senses

Kryptonians possess the ability of hearing, seeing, smelling, feeling and tasting at distances greater than any other species. They can also see in the electromagnetic spectrum, as well as to the microscopic and telescopic levels.

Superhuman Attributes

Under lesser gravity, Kryptonians are able of lifting tons over their heads with ease, move at Mach 4 speeds, move in ways normal people can't, as well as heal from injuries their invulnerability cannot withstand.

So long as Kryptonians are exposed to the effects of either a blue or yellow sun, their bodies show signs of virtually little to no aging whatsoever.

Kryptonians possess much more powerful solar based cells, which can take in much more energy from ultraviolet radiation than anything on Earth. Such an ability gives them many of their abilities, even makes them much stronger. If exposed to anyone of their weaknesses like Kryptonite or a red sun, exposure to yellow or blue sun radiation will aid in the restoration of their powers.
