Opposed to a wererat cursed with lycanthropy and typically dwelling in Sewers. Virrattus are humanoid rat beings that are quite social and friendly. They typically reside in small close knit communities that they take care of. These nests tend to be in abandoned city areas either because of a natural disaster condeming the area or economic reasons the previous residents moved out, they can even be found in various old ruins from time to time where they can live without persecution from other common races. Though this is the normal state of living some will venture out into the world either applying as street merchants, public cleaners, or even adventurers.

Virrattus are typically brown/grey banded fur large round ears adorning their head, a long hairless tail that has use for balance and even other small actions, large teeth and claws that they will usually use sparingly as either a tool or even a weapon in some cases. Others will have white fur that has multiple color traits (ie dark 'hoods' and spots) or even light tan or black/dark gray fur, and fur that has a slight wave or curl to it called rex. Some of this race have ears more to the top of their head or to the side called dumbo/side ear. All in all this race is quite varied in size and color making them even stand out among their own communities. They grow a little faster than humans and typically have shorter lifespans they live anywhere from a couple decades up to just shy of half a century.

The community nest of Virrattus are typically mixed of several types and kinds of their race. They will bring in most outsiders gleefully and allow them access to their homes. Some may be more wary but they usually warm up to new people.
