Homebrew Abyssal Machina Species Details
A small hum could be heard as Rainmaker hovered across the ocean, her glowing yellow eyes scanning the shoreline in curiosity
“The Overworld...I hope...I don't scare those who breathe...” She mused, waving the air around her. This was the first time the Abyssal was out of the ocean. "...this."
As soon as she made landfall, her thrusters blew away the sand beneath her. Rainmaker leaned forward slightly, feeling the sand beneath her. "I hope...whatever I bring back to the city may be useful..." Before long, a second set of thrusters could be heard behind her. "Oi, Rainmaker! Don't scurry off before me!" Rainmaker looked back at the other Abyssal. "Oh...Pyroxene, I thought you had long departed before me."
Pyroxene laughed, slinging her arms around Rainmaker's back. "Come on now, I don't want to miss this adventure without a trusty crewmate. Besides, this new world may prove daunting for a lone seawolf~" She winked, Rainmaker was taken aback. "I...well, if you wish to follow me, I have no qualms...just...try to not be too...frightening."
Shaped by their creators, the Abyssal Machina are constructs which primarily serve as the backbone of their creator's military. Although, with their creator's disappearance, their latest models of Abyssal Machina constructs are slowly upgrading themselves to become more self-sufficient and to preserve their creator's culture.
Made, not Birth
The Abyssal Machina, a recently discovered anomaly in the Ocean. The first questions to those who are curious about their existence is how they came to be, and how they are created. Those among the Abyssal simple state they are created through a process, though how exactly is more of a secret. Outwardly, they appear to be elven and human, depending on the model. However, their mechanical nature has left a few imprints on their appearance. Their entire body permeates with magical energies and their glowing blue cores could be seen beating underneath what could be considered their smooth, pale skin. Their glowing eyes follow the colour of their power core.
The Abyssal Standard
The majority of them have adopted more aquatic features to aide with their survivability in the ocean, with some of them having mechanical thrusters, fins and tendrils. Currently, there are four main types of Abyssal Machinas that are commonly seen in the Overworld. Krakens, are constructs who have forgo their legs for multiple sets of tendrils. Dybbuks, are those who have magically-powered thrusters in place of their legs, levitating off the ground. Usually, they are covered by a long dress to cover their thrusters. Nagas, are those who have eel-like tails. Those who have no extensive and obvious body modifications are called Humabyss.
Note, there are more types Abyssal Machinas that are not documented as they are unable to surface to the Overworld for a variety of reasons.
Curiosity of the Overworld
The Deep Blue. That is what the Abyssal Machina refer to the sea. They have no reason to leave their forlorn city, save for a few scouting parties to bring in the occasional news of their sea bound neighbours. Rarely they would ever question what is above the Deep Blue, or who roams it. Soon afterwards though, their curiosity piqued as a wreckage of a ship sunk near their city. Immediately, the more outspoken of their society sparked up a possibility of raising contact or exploring beyond the ocean's grasp.
Yet, a continual drive for adventure is found on some among them. Abyssal Machina's programming dictates the preservation of their creator's legacy. Although, some units in their ranks have ventured out as adventurers with a multitude of reasons pertaining to that reason.
