Homebrew Aeormaton Species Details

Their bodies are made of metal, and they have smooth heads with no nose, a defined jaw, and eyes that glow a dull blue when they're powered on. Some have decorative etchings and filigree engraved into their body. Inside their chest cavity is a red crystal which plugs into a socket. The gem appears to be the central power unit for an aeormaton.  to stay powered on they require inorganic food preferably metal bits. Aeormatons do not sleep but switch to a low power mode state (Elf Mediation). 

Although automatons of all kinds were common during the Age of Arcanum, only the Aeorians were able to give them true sentience.

Mindless

 You do not have a brain; therefore, you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and frightened. You are resistant to psychic damage, as well as this, because of your mechanical nature, if an organic being was to attempt to read your mind, or communicate with you telepathically, they would not understand the mechanical language that works within your mind.

Integrated Protection

Your body has built-in defensive layers, which can be enhanced with armor.

  • You gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class.
  • You can don only armor with which you have proficiency. To don armor, you must incorporate it into your body over the course of 1 hour, during which you must remain in contact with the armor. To doff armor, you must spend 1 hour removing it. You can rest while donning or doffing armor in this way.
  • While you live, your armor can't be removed from your body against your will.

You gain one skill proficiency and one tool proficiency of your choice.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.

Age

 A typical Aeormaton is between two and thirty years old. The maximum lifespan of the An Aeormaton remains a mystery; so far, and You are immune to magical aging effects.  A well looked after Aeormatons can live almost indefinitely. However, rust and cracked gears start to become a major problem between their first and third centuries. most now are found in a dilapidated state.

Ability Score Increase

 Your Constitution score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.

Alignment

Automatons at creation are True Neutral. It is only through experience that they begin to develop a personality and thus an alignment, whether that be good, evil, lawful or chaotic. However, due to their mechanical nature, automatons often develop lawful alignments.

Sentry's Rest

  • When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.

Agile

Agile automatons are built to be nimble. Slender bodies and deft fingers are things they possess.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 1.

Brawny

Brawny automatons are built to be tough. Muscular and strong are words that they embody.

Friendly

Friendly automatons are designed for home care, they are the ones that are the most life-like; but only in appearance.
