Homebrew "Human" Species Details

(MADE FOR A SPECIFIC CAMPAIGN, ONLY PUBLICIZED TO COMMUNITY SO THE DM COULD SEE IT BEFORE I JOINED THE CAMPAIGN)

Just a simple human, right...?

Wrong.

Found within a small corner of the multiverse, these "humans" used to be almost as varied as actual humans are. No matter how much smaller their numbers are compared to humans.

In truth, these creatures are not human at all. They hailed from a kingdom located on a different plane of existence, which was ruled by a set of twins named Radek and Diarmaid in it's final days. The plane itself has collapsed since then, taking down the kingdom with it. Any survivors, which are very few and far between, has had to resort to extreme measures in order to survive.

These "humans," better known as Lochan, Do not have physical forms. Their forms a made of the magic of a bygone goddess. In order to even be able to flee, they either had to connect themselves to a physical object in or take over the body of another. The latter could be done by either making a deal with someone with a physical form, or by destroying the mind/soul of the individual; leaving their body as an empty husk for the Lochan to inhabit.

In their original forms, Lochan can range from six to ten feet tall on average. Their forms ranging from being barely recognizable as a humanoid, more of an eldritch horror, to looking near identical to an actual human. Though both extremes are fairly rare, it is most common for the original be humanoid but still... odd(think like weirdcore, webcore, or ENA). If a surviving Lochan has attained a vessel, probably a human or other similar creatures, they tend to modify the appearance of the vessel to look similar to how their original form did; either through polymorphing or just traditional appearance changing methods.

If something were to happen to a Lochan's vessel, they would have to find a quick replacement. Either an object to anchor themselves with, or someone else to posses.
