Homebrew Aeolian Species Details
Believing their existence to come from Astraeus, Aerolians try to practice teachings of the winds he creates and the space he inhabits, the Astrian teachings. They believe in individuality and often act flippantly in order to serve their self-interest. Forming tight knit circles of closest allies is common, and a sense of community is not often achieved among them. However, they do not perceive these traits as negative, but rather an emulation of the many winds they like to pay homage to. Similar to the winds, however, Aerolian lives are short and fleeting, with most having passed by age 80.
Aerolians like the night, and the dark. Their belief in individuality over all is so fierce that total darkness is preferred, as they think that is where people can be most free, with no eyes to see or stop you. Because of this, their complexion is pale, and many of their other features differ greatly. Having the same type of eyes, hair, or outfit as another is seen as a travesty, and many will do all they can to avoid it.
Aerolians generally stay in Aerolia, their homeland. Finding one in Jorgeo is incredibly uncommon, and the two races are often at odds with each other. An Aerolian being casual with a Jorgeonian is a sight indeed.
The habit of forming small circles has caused Aerolians to change slightly based on where they’re found. Those in the gusty cities and capitals are known as Nephele, while those who stick to the outskirts full of the dense woodland and lakes that make up Aerolia are known as Haliae. The two are not forced to remain where they are acclimated though, and both can be found all throughout the continent.
