Homebrew Deep Sea Mermaid Species Details

Neptune's Prophecy states that someday a ruler would come to unite Oceanus at last, and she has finally arrived. 

Deep Sea Mermaid Traits

Both Anglerfolk traits and Merfolk traits will have purchase in this build.

Amphibious

You can cast Alter Self on yourself at will using this feature, only to turn your tail into legs, or your legs into a tail. When you do so, it lasts indefinitely and doesn't require concentration.

Siren's Allure

You have resistance against being charmed, since you yourself know and are proficient in all the tricks of a charmer. Likewise, you also have proficiency in Deception. 

Spells: you can cast Shape Water as a cantrip, Suggestion and Enthrall at spell level 1, and Charm Person at spell level 2. You can also cast Water Breathing on your companions once per long rest. 

Merfolk

You can speak Aquan and Common, and you have proficiency with the Net, Spear, and Trident. 

Angler Siren

The Deep Sea merfolk ancestry traits.

Darkvision

Accustomed to living in the deep, You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. In water this extents to 120 ft. as long as you are able to hear, but you can only see outlines of figures as if you are using a sonar pulse.

Deep Sea Endurance

You have resistance to Cold damage, due to being accustomed to the freezing temperatures in the depths of the ocean. 

Angler Ancestry

You can speak Primordial, which is the language of the oldest simple species in the ocean, and Deep Speech, which in this world is the language of the elder sentient monsters of The Deep. 

Frightening Transformation: You can also use your Anglerfolk appearance at will to frighten your enemies. 

You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
