Homebrew Virumuso Species Details

Sometimes called Mousekin, Virmuso are not a well known race on Charim, but are generally well liked by those who know of them. Especially friendly with halflings. Virmuso tend not to venture very far from their homes.

 

Virumuso Traits

Virmuso are exceptionally well built to hide and make snap judgements that will protect them from predators. For this the trade off are their exceptional fragility, and small stride.

Ability Score Increase

Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 3, and your Wisdom score increases by 1. Your Strength score decreases by 2, and your Constitution score decreases by 1.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Energetic

Virmuso can dash as a bonus action without provoking opportunity attacks.

Fragile

Virmuso are particularly susceptible to damage. Lower your Hit Die by one category (From a D12 to a D10, D10 to D8, D8 to D6, and D6 to D4) regardless of class.

Tiny Feet

Virmuso have advantage on Stealth checks and can move stealthily at a normal pace.

Tiny Strides

Virmuso have a 10ft Walking, Climbing, and Swimming Speed. Your speed is not reduced by wearing heavy armor.

Very Small

Virmuso gain a +1 to Armor Class at all times. This ability stacks with all armor.

Virmuso are so incredibly small that most equipment must be custom made for them. Most crafters lack the skill required, so equipment can be very difficult to find. Fortunately, the increased price this skill demands is often made up for with significantly reduced material costs. Weapons crafted for Virmuso deal lower damage by one step (similar to their Hit Dice)(d4 weapons deal 1 damage plus modifiers).
