Homebrew Almani Species Details
"The shadows in the dark, the shifting faces, the things that go bump in the night? Why those lovely fellows are the Almani!"
The yokai people or Almani as they prefer being called, are spirit like humanoids who have two forms. Their yokai form and their normal humanlike form. Most Almani spend time in the yokai realm living peaceful and full lives. However the Almani on the outside are more warlike, being the frontline troops that protect the yokai realm and the natural order of worlds.
The Almani are said to be pure beings corrupted by the world of man, while others say it is the other way around and that the yokai world is too toxic for any but the Almani.
Almani Traits
Almani are gifted with many skills and powers.Spirit's Calling
Almani can partially transform themselves into their yokai form once per day.
Yokai's Affection
Can Summon a familiar to assist them in daily life.

Almani are resistant to poison and immune to disease
DarkVision
Darkvision of up to 35 feet
Ability Score Increase
Your Wisdom score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.
Age
Almani mature and age at the same rate as humans, however after reaching more than 300 years old they can change their form to whatever they want.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Mental Discipline
You have resistance to psychic damage.
Mind Link
You can speak telepathically to any creature you can see, provided the creature is within a number of feet of you equal to 10 times your level. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic utterances, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language.
When you’re using this trait to speak telepathically to a creature, you can use your action to give that creature the ability to speak telepathically with you for 1 hour or until you end this effect as an action. To use this ability, the creature must be able to see you and must be within this trait’s range. You can give this ability to only one creature at a time; giving it to a creature takes it away from another creature who has it.

Almani Oni
Born within the Yokai realm, these Almani lack a human like form and always appear as their yokai self.
Most are nobles, live in the yokai realm full time, or help on the frontline.
Yokai
A yokai through and through, faster and stronger than any of the other beings of this world.
Sky Almani
Only some Almani can truly fly, most can simply float and climb really well.
Gliding Fly
Can glide for 30 feet but will fall if ending their turn mid air.
Water Almani
Water Almani can breathe underwater and on land thanks to the water's affection.
Water Breathing
Can breath underwater

Posted May 13, 2025it would be FAR more important for the water almani to be able to swim than it would be for them to breath water, I'm not sure if you included it and just didn't write it down.
