Homebrew Zvezda Species Details
As living stars, Zvezda rarely come down to the Eternal Forest unless they have grown too curious to stay away. While in the night sky, they watch over the cosmos, making sure that the sun and moon rise accordingly. On the ground, they must take on a more corporeal form and often have an adjustment period of learning about the world around them, because Zvezda that land in the forest very rarely find their way back to the sky. With an ethereal glow about them and otherworldly features, Zvezda are often easy to spot, and their glittering hair is valued by magic users as a rare component for potions and spells.
Zvezda Traits
Celestial resistance and legacyDarkvision
As a creature of the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can only see in shades of gray and blue.
Celestial Resistance
You have resistance to radiant and necrotic damage.
Celestial Legacy
You know the light cantrip but can only cast it on yourself. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the moonbeam spell at 3rd level once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Trance
Zvezda don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. While meditating, you may receive some sort of omen. Roll a d4 at the end of your long rest - on a 4, roll on the Omen Table.
Dhampir "Corpse Eater"
Feared by many, Dhampir, or as some call them, “Corpse Eaters,” tend to either try to blend in with their community or live secluded lives in darker corners of the woods. Should a Dhampir’s true nature be discovered, they are often at best shunned, and at worst, hunted. Some Dhampir were turned by choice, hoping to gain the mythological truly Deathless state. Others seek out a cure, clinging to their humanity as they travel the Endless Forest, doing their best to suppress their darker urges.
Ability Score Increase
Increase one ability score by 2, and increase a different one by 1.
Spider Climb
You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. In addition, at 3rd level, you can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free.
Vampiric Bite
Your fanged bite is a natural weapon, which counts as a simple melee weapon with which you are proficient. You add your Constitution modifier to the attack and damage rolls when you attack with your bite. Your bite deals 1d4 piercing damage on a hit. While you are missing half or more of your hit points, you have advantage on attack rolls you make with this bite. When you use your bite and hit a creature that isn’t a Construct or an Undead, you can empower yourself in one of the following ways of your choice
- regain hit points equal to the damage dealt by the bite
- gain a bonus to the next ability check or attack roll you make; the bonus equals the damage dealt by the bite
- You can empower yourself with your bite a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
