After mixing the powdered silver and ink for this ritual, choose an object weighing no more than 500 pounds as the target of the spell and begin to draw an arcane sigil using the ink upon it. At the completion of the casting time you finish the sigil and the object rises vertically, 5 feet in the air, and remains suspended there for the duration. While levitating the object can be moved easily, DC 5 Strength(athletics) check, and is capable of carrying as much as 1,000 pounds or an amount that is reasonable for the size and material the object is made of (whichever is less) before the spell fails.
A person touching the object can use an action and speak a command word (chosen by the caster) to either cause the object to rise or lower 5 feet, but the object cannot rise higher than 10 total feet above the surface it floats upon. When the spell ends, the target floats gently to the ground if it is still aloft.
If this spell is cast on the same object each day for 1 month the spell becomes permanent on the object until a Dispel Magic spell is cast upon it.
Skilled practitioners of magic have reportedly been able to alter the ritual to cast this spell upon smaller objects. This alteration likely reduces the expensive cost of the spells components but also apparently increases the casting time necessary while diminishing not only the weight the spell supports but also the height the object can levitate at.
