Acid
A green cloud appears in the air within range and scatters the sky with thick droplets of burning acid in a 30-foot radius, 60-foot high cylinder. Each creature in the cylinder must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 12d6 acid damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. In addition, all targets, whether or not the creature made the save, are coated in acid and take 2d6 acid damage at the end of each of their turns until they or another creature takes an action to remove the acid from themselves.
* - (a flask of acid worth at least 50 gp, which the spell consumes)
DMG guidelines suggest a 11d6 damage for a 6th level spell with save for half. This one is 12d6 *plus* 2d6 dam each turn (no save) whether or not you made the save, until you or another creature spends an action to remove acid (no limit).
As written, this should probably be 7th or even 8th level.
Yes, that is a good point. I think it should be increased to 7th level and perhaps the additional damage should be only for those who failed the save.
That'd be good. At 7th level, it's still somewhat powerful, but not too much since an affected creature that failed its save can use an action to stop the damage. Basically, suggested damage for 7th level spell + 1 wasted action or some extra damage.
