At the mention of food, Grianne's stomach grumbles loudly. unsure what to do or just how awkward this moment is, she just stares at Eldin for too long a time before replying, I guess that's a yes then. Lead on.

Rothander look back at Morthos from his forge and wipes the sweat from his face. "Lad I hav ye axe ready." With a big smile he produces a Battle axe from under the counter. As Rothander sets it down the light of the forge makes the razor sharp edge shine like sparkling diamonds. "I hope this wonderful weapon serves ye well lad."
Grianne whipped an obscene about of grease from he hand and face from the pile of meat she ordered, and brings out her notebook. She turns to the newest entry. The letters are blockie and the words are mispelled, but its readable.

Eldin takes the notebook and makes some markings on it. He then stares at it in thought and says, "I don't think I went over how words are spelled and the sentences we speak are written down. How about after the meal, we go to the forest with the books and I go over those things... in greater detail this time?"
After the meal Eldin will go to the forest with Grianne. He sits down at their usual place and says, "Alright, you know how the letters sound isolated. How letters sound together can be a bit more complex. Let's start with the basics." Eldin then opens the children's book and gives it to Grianne. "I'm going to write somethings down. In the meantime, why don't you read the words that are alphabetically listed in the book." In the notebook he brought along, Eldin writes two words for each letter; one is two lettered (3 if two lettered words for a letter doesn't exist) and the other is three lettered.
An Ant Be Bat Cat Carp ...
(How long does he take: INT 1)
He takes his sweet time. He has a complete brain fart and his mind goes blank whenever he tries to think of words. It takes him half an hour to write all the words down.

(Huh... I didn't realize we could take the prize, and then immediately trade it and a previous magic item for something new. Ugh. Man, I've been misreading the rules hard these days.)

(There's no need to select a prize to trade in "Alternatively they may exchange a magic item for another item of their choosing of the same rarity or lower". Og just traded his Ring for a Maul, but I guess his character waffled about it a bit first...)

Fin begrudgingly pays off her 10g bet. Then goes to sleep until the next night, setting Fetsu to wake her if it seems anyone is moving to mess with her.
(If I'm not mistaken, Og now has the longest winning streak in the history of the Coliseum.)
Oh man I wanna take you down so bad.
(Same. Chances Slim.)
(So, you can take a prize AND trade in an old magic item? And here I thought I had to just let myself hemorrhage magic items. Guess its too late to get that +1 Shield back and Gloves of Missile Snaring. :/)
(So, you can take a prize AND trade in an old magic item? ...)
(No, you can take one or alternatively exchange an old item. You can also exchange two items at any time, not necessarily in the prize room. Choosing to take an item and then immediately exchange two items including the one you just got is the same result, but confusing... apparently.)

Eldin simply sits down at Grianne's table and asks her what she'd like to have.
After the food gets there and mid-way through the meal Eldin will say, "So, how's your studies coming along?"
