"Yes, I've told you a thousand times! This is where I hope to get my first ever job as an adventurer! It is you who destroyed my merchant's cart!"
"Yeah, yeah I got that already"
(The Italicized quotes are Bawhb, her demon patron who lives in her head, whom only Kathibelle can hear, so it'd look like she was talking to herself. More info about it for OOC knowledge is described in her backstory on this campaign's recruitment page. (Ignore the portal bit))
Mirri is in Siabsungkoh to visit the market. She is eager to try all the local delicacies. She'll try to pick up some performance gigs while she's in town, to pay for her stay, maybe join up with some local troupes to learn their regional songs and stories, and their recipes.
Mirri starts walking through the market. She doesn't get very far as she is distracted by each stall and stops at each one.
"What's that? Oh, fried decapus tentacles! May I try?"
"Mmm... what's that spice you've used in the batter? Huh, a whole silver piece for that skewer; I'm going to have to get some work. Do you happen to know of any taverns looking for--" She tosses back the rest of the fried tentacle and indicates her birdpipes in one easy gesture, "-- entertainment?"
Having a day off while the more senior members of his delegation conducted some sensitive negotiations, at which his presence was politely not required, Medqull woke this morning with the idea that a spot of shopping would be just the thing to while away some time. Taking along one of their attendants, Medqull made his way to the ruby Concord Jewel for a visit to the Dyn Singh Night Market.
"Ah, that was invigorating, was it not, Yarace?" Medqull comments as he hands the halfling attendant the box containing the charm he just haggled a vendor down to 15 copper pieces for. (The charm, supposedly to ward off then undead, was worth maybe 5cp at most.) "And it seems to be working already, not a zombie in sight, eh? Well, only a few silvers spent and we've already got that, those lovely jade figurines," (actually cheap soapstone) "some exquisite diamond earrings," (fake) "and that delightful garment to wear when drinking hot beverages, inscribed with the slogan you assured me was most humorous. Now, what say we find a bite to eat?"
"Very good, sir," the attendant replies, adjusting his grip on the various purchases he's already carrying and following Medqull toward a food stall with a suppressed sigh.
[Just realised I have Medqull setting out in the "morning" for the "Night Market"... I could edit to have him spend time elsewhere first, or we could say the Citadel and Siabsungkoh are just in different time zones...]
Shouting rises over the sound of haggling shopkeepers and the sizzle of cooking street food. A shrill voice cries out, "Give it back, you little thief!" "No, you're the thief!" replies a youngster with a panicked squeak. An instant later, a frantic kobold bursts from the crowd clutching a sizeable bunch of green onions. A flustered gnome woman chases him. The kobold runs straight into Ravo, and frantically backpedals, bumping into Medqull in the process. The gnome catches up, and tries to yank the onions out of his hands. You can separate the squabblers by succeeding a DC 12 Strength (Athletics) check or a DC 12 Charisma (Persuasion) check.
The large towering figure begins to bend downward slowly, it’s face covered in scales and scars. As it leans down, an immense pressure from its intense reptilian gaze falls upon the two individuals fighting. Suddenly, with a gentleness and kindness unexpected, the large lizardman slides the two apart with its incredibly muscular arms. Then it finally speaks… ”Please do not fight… someone might get hurt”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Oh, I say!" exclaims Medqull as the kobold ricochets into him, "Are you quite all right?" Then the accusation of theft catches up with him, stirring something in the back of mind, and he looks down at the kobold and gnome and asks, "Well now, what is all this about a theft? Come come, I'm sure we can settle this like civilized beings."
[Some kind of check to convince them to talk? Maybe Persuasion?: 7]

"Those green things do look inviting... I could entirely understand why someone might pick them up accidentally."
Mirri looks at the shopkeeper. "Might I buy them from you? Then there is no problem with any possibility of theft. Or perhaps, I might exchange them for a song about your wonderful wares?" persuasion18
Why are you in Siabsungkoh, the location of your first adventure?
Is this the name of the citadel?
Osborne Goodluck | Level 1 | Halfling | Sorcerer (Wild Magic) | Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
Ravo can be a very simple individual... he would most likely be trying to find any work that could make use of his large size or strength
Kathibelle would be there looking for work.
"Are you sure that this is it?"
"Yes, I've told you a thousand times! This is where I hope to get my first ever job as an adventurer! It is you who destroyed my merchant's cart!"

( Also is there a link to the Campaign so we can add characters? :) )
It just so happens that while Kathibelle is roaming the market looking around her surroundings, she bumps into Duanphen.
"Oh, I'm so sorry about that."
"Hey, watch where you're going!"
"Oh, shut up! As if you were looking yourself!"

Hey DM, I actually don't think I can do this game, so I'm sorry about that, you can continue without my character?

(sorry, I forgot I wasn't subscribed to this thread)
A grey kobold is excitedly running around, going to each food vendor and trying a little bit of everything.
Thats fine!
OOC - Are we already starting? I don’t want to mess anything up and start blabbing off before I am supposed to lol
Yes, we are starting.

(You all are relatively close together.)
OOC - I will assume the roll is for Ravo?
As the kobold collides with what could have been mistaken for a wall…. it suddenly begins to turn and peer down at the object that ran into it.
Athletics 17
[ooc] Sorry, I assumed the "you" was all of us but on rereading I see it's Ravo.
Mirri looks up from her delicious snack, bumped by the elbow of the shopkeeper doing the chasing.
Mirri turns to the squabblers and attempts to pull the green onions out of the tug-of-war. sleight of hand 22
