Hey, it's ya boy Moonknight, back at it again to bring the masses a new dungeons and dragons adventure now that my schedule has cleared up somewhat. We'll get into it in a bit, but first here's a little bit about me.
Been a Dungeon Master for a year in real life, exclusively 5th Edition, though I'd like to try my hands at other systems like Pathfinder, or something Star War's based. Been a player a couple times IRL, involved in a few campaigns here. I've also been a DM here on the fourms once for a Starter Box Lost Mines campaign, and would like to try my hand at creating my own home-brewed adventure!
So here's the rundown of the plot line I was thinking about: A European Esqe Country named Zofia, and an Egyptian Themed Country named Valm are finally settling there differences. They are technically Northern and Southern neighbors despite being on different continents, separated by a small sea, (again think Italy/Greece and Egypt) that have been fierce economic and political rivals for centuries.
Recently both countries have entered peace negotiations, and are engaging with each other in multiple different avenues of life to try to foster good faith and will for the people. One of those faucets happen to be the countries two adventuring guilds!
Zofia sends a few apprentice adventurer's along with a one of the guild's leading adventures to act as a supervisor, to meet up with a few of Valm apprentice adventures and their respective supervisor in the Valise town of Pheros, a bustling port town that receives and sends a good portion of the countries imports and exports. There you will be briefed on possible missions to undertake, and various hi-jinks and grand adventures will ensue!
Some vary basic backstory/insight into the two countries"
Zofian citizens are typically fair of skin, but diverse in race. The average town is mixed population, even the races respective home cities. The country itself is a magi-cracy, with the ruling elite being magic wielding citizens from various predominate households from each race. Classism is actually a somewhat big issue in the country, with those incapable of harnessing magic being second class citizens. They typically become workers, merchants and artisans, although some do pursue mercenary work, or become personal body guards for a mage, the best position a non magic user can hope to achieve in the country.
Valise citizens tend to be darker in skintone, though with the intermixing of Zofian citizens, some lighter shades have been popping up in the population. The population tends to consist highly of humans, and more exotic races. Elves, Dwarves, and Halflings tend to be more uncommon here, though not unheard of. The country is based off an absolute monarch, and power tends to be more wealth based in the country then power or magic based. The coast line is where most high population cities are, though there are many smaller villages in the south where a huge uncaring desert and vast jungle takes up most of the space of the country.
Once we have a motley crew of 4-6 people, we will roll stats and go on our adventurer. Here's some general rules
Any race and class is accepted, including homebrew as long as it's not ridiculous. Once we have people, we will draw lots to determine who belongs to which country (im looking for a somewhat even spread, though I can make a few characters to bolster the ranks, and take whichever missions you choose not to take)
We start at level 3, you are all somewhat experienced adventurers, been on a few missions before, you may or may not be familiar with the others in the group, either through working directly with them or hearing about them from somewhere in your countries respective guild halls.
We will roll for stats and money/equipment once we have everyone.
Anybody who has content sharing will receive priority over others because I don't have it, and it would be nice to actually be able to have our characters in the classes we actually want them to be.
Further backstory on the countries/world will be shared once we have everybody. Here's what I want to see on your application posts
A little bit about yourself. Past experience with dungeons and dragons and PbP, maybe a link to another campaign thread you're in so I can see how you typically post/role-play.
A little bit about your intended character. Race, class, general personalty archetype. As mentioned above, we will split characters between countries, but if you have a particular country you want to play as, you are totally free to build a character around it.
If you can provide content sharing for the campaign
Thank you all for your time! Hoping to see some strong applications soon!
Heya, Mighty here. I'm fairly new on this kind of D&D PbP community. I used to DM on roll 20 but then... My internet died, so yeah, that Happend. I also DM a Spanish Tal'Dorei campaign so I have some kind of experience playing already, if I have the opportunity to play here I would like to roll a charismatic female Eladryn Bard from the school of glamour that loves boosting the party's morale, raised in the streets as a urchin winning coin signing with a very beautiful voice that can charm even the coldest of hearts . Sadly I don't have any content to share with the group.
Hi there, I think this could be kind of cool to play.
So, I heard about D&D about year ago and have played for slightly less than that so far. I have played in a few PbP games (in the Signature) and a couple times IRL. Unfortunately I don't have content share because i'm broke :(.
I was thinking an Earth Genasi Fighter with a fondness for ale and treasure (and glory, not that they would admit it).
Hello, I started way back with AD&D, played some AD&D 2nd Edition but skipped 3.5 and Pathfinder. Now play 5e almost exclusively. My idea for a character is a Goblin who was rescued from a genocide visited upon his tribe. An Inventive Wizard took my Goblin as an apprentice, seeking the challenge of teaching one from such a low position to harness the power of the Arcane. As he grows in power, his overall manner changes from being meek and uncouth to a position of strength and refinement. Sorry, I don't yet have any content to share.
Been playing D&D since 3.5 released. Play weekly irl and use PbP to get my fix in between sessions. Here is a link to a campaign I am DM'ing. I'm also a PC in two other campaigns, but they don't post enough, so I'm trying to find something that is hopefully more active. I get sad if no one posts over 8 hours.
I tend to gravitate towards races that have a bonus to wisdom, not sure why. I would want to play a Wood Elf Monk, true neutral. His backstory would be one of finding something special in his past, and making it his calling to decipher it's meaning. No preference to country.
I have all content unlocked for races, classes, backgrounds etc. Except the turtle race. Can share if you say please.
I have played D&D for a little over a year now, having picked it up with some friends of mine. I host a weekly session where I DM irl, and I am currently DM'ing a campaign here called The Adventures of Gelinor, which has just started a few days ago.
I would be playing a half-elf wizard, aiming to become powerful enough to reach the top of the Zofian magi-cracy, whether that is through learning more powerful magic, by finding magical items, or gaining powerful allies, he does not care.
Because I respect you and your new campaign, I'll post my introduction here.
I would like to vouch for Moon: He and I are actually in a very successful, rich, campaign right now, and i'm very familiar with his play style. You guys are in for a treat. I enjoy playing with him in PbP very much, and respect him greatly as a player. I hope his campaign is very successful and wish him the best of luck. With that being said:
ME:
- I've been playing D&D since 1st edition. I'm an older player with tons of experience around the table and here in play by post, so i'm very good and can answer lots of questions. - I have a decent imagination, and when i'm invested in a character, I tend to write and get involved with lots of backstory. My characters have lots of depth to them, and I love any opportunity to explore them, and I always play them 110% to personality and give it my all. - I do have content sharing, so if you need it, it's here for you.
MY CHARACTER:
- I tend to play my human investigator rogue named "Crispy" most of the time. Her mother had an affair with a married man who was a raging alcoholic and both were horribly abused by him growing up. Abandoned as an adolescent, she was found on the streets and picked up by an organization that trained people to become deadly special agents that defended cities against supernatural threats. Unfortunately, she turned out to be a dirty cop. She was eventually fired and exiled for getting her partner killed, and has a long, horrible history of bribery, extortion, rage, violence, and demonic taint. Her normal demeanor is sassy, sarcastic, witty, and she is extremely dangerous. She struggles daily with trying to do the right thing, and somewhere, has a heart of gold, and is struggling with reconciling her past.
I find it interesting to explore her history throughout the levels, but if you're sick of her, I can play something else, you won't hurt my feelings. =)
Hey everyone, i'm Nireus. Nice to meet you. Ive know about D&D for a long time, but only recently started to play. I mostly play on Roll 20. Currently in a very fun session that plays every Wednesday. I have not tried a PbP game before, hoping for this to be my first one.
Im loving that backstory so far. If given the chance to play, I would like to try my hand at a Tiefling druid. Eventually multi classing. Background will be Haunted One. Sorry about not having anything to share.

Sylrea "Joan " Lightbringer - Variant Human - Paladin 2/Bard 1 - An adventure of amazing proportions and mixed madness
Hello. I’ve been tabletop role playing for almost 25 years now, starting with Rifts and eventually making my way to 3e - 5e. I’ve been playing PbP for around 3 years. I use pbp to help me develop my own role playing skills, causing me to think more descriptively rather than mechanically. I tend to be able to post multiple times a day.
I would like to play a half elf wizard, blade singer. The cultural aspect of his bladedance and anthropologist background cause him to want to learn about new cultures while bringing the life of his own to share with others. Depending on where you want the adventure to go, there could be an espionage element to his character as well.
Hello, all. I'm DDP, and I've been playing DnD for about three months — PbP only. (Wow, that's a lot of initialisms.) I'm currently involved in another of Moonknight's campaigns, but I'm sure that won't give me a leg up. ;) I'm a 40-something Floridian who loves creating characters, but has trouble putting together a full story, so PbP is great because I get to create and play the character while somebody else keeps the plot going.
The character I'd like to play: Blaze Thornwen, a Fire Genasi warlock
Karlo's parents, being non-magical commoners living in Zofia, were nobodies. The Blakes ran a bakery. Despite their lowly station, they were happy. When Mrs. Blake became pregnant after many years of no luck, the couple was overjoyed. When Karlo, Jr., was born, their lives changed forever. After word spread about the birth of a child with burning, red skin and hair in Zofia, it was not long before the Blakes' station was elevated greatly. It happened so quickly and forcefully that before Karlo was two months old, Mr. and Mrs. Blake were living completely different lives. They had a new home, new friends, were being financially supported (and so did not need to work), and their child's upbringing had been mapped out for them. The new life did not suit the simple Blakes. By the time Karlo was seven, his parents were completely sick of the snobbish, backstabbing nobility. Unfortunately, those that had been supporting the family for the past seven years were not ready to let go of Karlo. The boy had indeed shown a natural inclination toward the arcane. He was destined to be great and was being treated as such. When the Blakes decided to return to their previous lives, Karlo was easily removed from his birth parents and given to one of the noble magic families, the Thornwens. The Thornwens renamed Karlo Blaze. Blaze was already so influenced by the nobility with which he spent most of his time, that, while confusing, he fairly quickly accepted his removal from his birth parents. He continued to train and study both the ways of the arcane and the ways of the nobility. The Thornwens are a powerful Zofian family, and their adoption of Blaze added to their status. Blaze has grown up to see the world through the same viewpoint as the Thornwens. Because of his magical heritage, he is more important than most — he's a snob. However, there is a part of him that was instilled long ago by his down-to-earth parents. Sometimes that more decent part of him speaks. And sometimes he listens. The Blakes are still alive and are still baking. They are happy together, but are sad for the son they didn't get to raise. Blaze has only seen them from a distance; he is afraid to approach them. The reason Blaze is adventuring is because of his two brothers. His two adopted older siblings have never accepted Blaze as their own. They have tormented him for as long as Blaze can remember. While he is careful to never let on how much this hurts him, some time ago, he decided to leave home because of it. He told his adopted parents he wanted to continue learning how to wield the arcane by facing challenges he would only face by adventuring. Adventuring has helped Blaze learn to be a little more cooperative with those he deems beneath him — everyone else.
I cannot provide content sharing for the campaign.
The Unrelenting Summer Sun beat down on the crowded avenue. Hundreds of citizens milled around this street, and many others in the crowded port town of Pheros, economic jewel of the Southern Country of Valm. A party of four strange individuals traveling in a tight packed group some curious eyes from the crowd, but Pheros was a town of oddities, and most continued on their ways once the initial curiosity died down.
The four individuals consisted of a man and women both with ivory skin and long hair of strange colors, who lead the pack, eyeing each building on the side of the road as if looking for something specific, a goblin dressed smartly in rather expensive custom made clothing, and a large human knight with similar skin tone and even slightly similar hair, if a more normal color, of his human counterparts.
The pink haired women, dressed in the wilting Noontime sun in full plate metal armor, politely tapped the blue haired mans shoulder, and directed his gaze to an "One Eyed Viper Tavern".
It was different then the taverns of their home country. More carpeting, rugs, tapestries, sheets, and general cloth. The tables and chairs seemed to be haphazardly placed, without care to efficacy, and some even were mismatched, but the tavern was filled with many interesting clientele anyways.
The Four didn't take long to find their counterparts, a large dark skinned male, dressed in an baggy white pant and shirt combo, a strange brown vest filled with all sorts of vials, darts, and small weaponry, and even a pair of goggles and a turban, loudly directed the party to his large table, filled partially with youngsters of his own. A large male earth gensei, a female elf and male half elf, and rouge looking human female all looked at the new comers with varying levels of curiosity.
"There you finally are you lily skinned bastards!" The famous Valise adventurer shouted without any of the heat that the curse words would normally convey. "Do you know how much I regret saying drinks were on me? Luckily the owner let me split the checks after the fourth round of drinks these bastards downed." The dark skinned man looks extremely relaxed, sitting on the wrong side of a simple wooden chair, so his arms and chest were resting on the back support. He exuded complete confidence in his tone of voice, mannerisms, and body language, and despite his position, those more savvy in body language can tell he's still intimately aware of his surroundings, and poised to react if anything were to happen.
The pink haired women, Cherche, diddn't seem too impressed with the fact that their fellow supervisor seemed to be somewhere past his tenth round himself, but kept silent as the blue haired man, Virion, ordered a round of imported Zofian tea for his own party.
"Temmet Velvo, I beleive? I, Virion, Fourth Son in Line of the Rosanne Family, speak on behave of the Zofian Adventuer's league, and would like to both thank you and the Valm division for your corporation for, well, international corporation. Your reputation proceeds you, slayer of the fabled World Eater Snake. I'm surprised your country men would spare someone of your caliber for such a simple task." The blue haired man concludes. He has an air of self-importance around himself, and is a terrible actor, as the final part of his introduction is a bare faced fishing for information.
Temmet dismisses the question with a easy swipe of his hand and explains "I was doing nothing better with the time, recently ****ed up my leg in a tomb raid. Realized I never tried out being a teacher before, and the League thought putting somebody like me up would seem impressive for 'international corporation'. More like 'international dick measuring', amiright?" He quickly continues after his rhetorical statement "I vaguely know about you actually. Chronomancy is a impressive blood line trait, your entire family is on the bingo book for people to watch out for on the field. What about pretty in pink, and your little troop of boyscouts?" He turns his heads to his own charges as an afterthought and states "The Temmet troop should also probably introduce yourselves."
"Crispy", as she was known to most, was sitting next to the one who called herself Arelia, or "Ary". She liked people with nicknames of sorts, as she had one herself. She was leaning back in her chair, in a very casual stance, with her double short sword holster attached to her right hip.
Not from this land, or quite possibly, this time, Crispy watched the newcomers like she did with anyone she didn't really know - with suspicion and distance. Study first, talk later. She decided to let them do the talking before jumping to any conclusions about their behavior. Besides, she knew what she was good at. Until she got fired, she had spent her career dealing with people. And by dealing she meant: bullying, beating up, extorting, bribing, and killing. Mostly criminal scum. As a special forces operative, that was her old life.
She was about to start a new "career" but she made the mistake of dealing with demons. Now she found herself in this place, and had to find a way home. Arelia was the first one she met - Crispy was amazed at her musical talent, something the rogue didn't have.
She leaned her head a bit in Arelia's direction as the newcomers approached, pulling on her leather jerkin's collar a bit. The heat was stifling, and she was already sweating a bit. She had the urge to strip some of her clothes off to cool down, but fought the temptation for sake of professional courtesy.
"Hells," she said to her, "Is it always so hot in this place?"
"Sweetie, trust me. You'll get used to it the same way you eventually got used to men looking at you're arse" she whispered back to Crispy, letting out a small laugh at the end. She looked at the eyes of the newcomers saying; "Hi darlings" paying more attention at the goblin at first, but then again, she has seen weirder stuff on this city. "Arelia Lathalas".
"Tyberius Darkk, at your service" the half-elf says from his seat, holding up his glass before downing the rest of the liquid. He holds his hand out, as if for a handshake, and an identical spectral hand floats out of it and flies over to Virion to grab his hand and shakes it before dissipating, so that Tyberius never had to stand up. "So, I've never met a real chronomancer before. How does one begin learning that area of magic?
With a slightly amused look on her face, Crispy says sarcastically to Ary loud enough that Monolith could hear, "Oh, he's charming. But I like the second question."
She noticed the goblin. She's beat up plenty of those. And the one called Tyberius offered a pleasant introduction. Crispy made eye contact with him and gave him a pleasant nod. She really didn't understand casters and mages and the sort, but whatever Crispy was drinking softened her mood, and she appreciated the welcome, and his parlor trick. Waiting for the others to speak, her fingers played with the mug of drink in front of her. The woman with the pink hair was quiet, the man with the blue hair had an annoying confidence, Virion was his name, and a Chronomancer. Might be a way home, she thought. Temmet seemed to be someone important. And loud.
She turned back to Ary, who she found much more intriguing. "So." She said, "What's some tidbits about you? Never met anyone who could..play? An instrument."
"Charming indeed" said Ary at first, she kept looking around the tavern for some reason, the answering Crispy's question she said: "Oh well, what can I say. I also sing, play flute, lyre and drums, I always wanted to be in a band but I think I made the right decision coming here. You?".

Crispy considers what Alelia said, and smirked to herself, “I guess some things never change..”
Monolith stands and clears his throat as if about to say something profound and meaningful, but instead says:
"Well, this is all very nice - if boring. Now, what is it we are supposed to be out to do?"
Monolith sits back down and belches contentedly, then, almost as an afterthought says to no one in particular.
"And how much am I getting paid."
You?".
