This will be the thread for when the two groups are intermingled and for setting up the campaign. It will also be where I keep track of the base rules for writing. Please quickly check the notes below!
Please can the following be used to keep things uniform as best we can:
Out of character notes be put into brackets. (This is an example OOC note)
When speaking, use speech marks, and something to define it. You may use colours, bold, etc. Please try not to use yellow, as I know some people have issues reading such on the forum thread. Once you've picked your choice, attempt to keep to that as your main method. "This is speaking in character" "As is this"
When you are doing internal monologues (i.e. thinking), please put it in italics, without the speech marks. This is an internal monologue. As is this
Make sure to keep dice rolls on their own lines, rather than hidden in a block of text.
For combat, I'll roll initiative for everyone, then do a post for the sorted initiative. When in initiative, as long as you're not on the floor dying, you can post if you are within the current block of party members who have their turn. It'll make better sense when we're in combat. Please refrain from taking your turn until you are in said block.
If you don't post for a day or two during such scenarios, I'll take a turn for you to keep the ball rolling

The city of Greenholden. The shining beacon on the Northern coast of Rhomas. To this day it has been a bright light that shines for everyone to follow its example. Now, it doesn't mean it doesn't have its fair share of issues. There are many a thieves' guild, nobles wanting to get the one-up on each other, and crazy megalomaniacs attempting to take over the world, but for now it is generally kept to a minimum thanks to the amazing adventurers' guild The Seven Saints. People of all ages, backgrounds, and professions have requested to join the Seven Saints due to their reputation as benevolent and caring people, as well as giving free dental. However, adventuring is not for the faint of heart. Those who apply must go through arduous testing and training, having to go through obstacle courses, combat rounds, battles of wits, and a spelling bee. Thankfully you have done well in your own personal field, showing your courage and ability to adapt to the situation, and have received a letter that reads as follows.
"Congratulations, lucky adventurer! You have been accepted into the Greenholden branch of The Seven Saints Adventuring Company. Within this envelope you will find directions to the adventurer's dormatory, a signet ring that shows your membership into The Seven Saints, and five coupons for the first ale or wine at 50% off at the local tavern, The Sister's Sonata. Please attend the induction ceremony for you and your future adventuring companions that will be happening tomorrow afternoon. Yours faithfully, Saint Jeremiah l'Corran, Guildmaster."
Within the letter is a bronze coloured ring, fitted to your finger size for your convenience, as well as several water-resistant slips of parchment for the aforementioned discounts. It appears that only one coupon can be used per visit.
The directions given lead to the guildhall of The Seven Saints. Within the industrial ward of Greenholden, there are many magnificent towers that seemingly reach the sky with their ornate spires and intresting statues of various heroes throughout the ages. The guildhall itself is atop one of these huge buildings. Using the convenient transport in this megacity, magical tiles that propel oneself from the ground to a platform or connecting bridge higher up the buildings, you find yourselves landing in a large colourful garden with long flower beds of roses, bluebells, and other colourful hues. Beyond the flower garden is a huge marble building with shining glass windows. The emblem of The Seven Saints, a circle with seven four-pointed stars evenly spread around the circle's edge, is crafted above the guildhall entrance is a shining silver metal.
It seems you are not alone in joining up here in the start as a brand new Saint adventurer.
(If you would like to introduce yourselves, perhaps give a brief description of your appearance as you approach the guildhall)
A short, thin man with shaggy black hair steps off one of the tiles and looks around. He seems to be wearing brand new clothing for the occasion, but seems uncomfortable doing so. Around his neck is what seems to be a rather large uncut black crystal. He walks up to the other hires and says, "Hello! My name's Johann, nice to meet you all. Are all of you new adventurers too?"
Johann can see that there is a large number of people arriving (not just the party, but several dozen others as well). From some goblins rushing forward with some colourful clothing to an enormous goliath striding over to the place, clad in just hunting furs.
(Let's just assume that Johann is speaking with one of the PCs, someone who responds next.)
Well, you just got fired from your job recently, got your partner killed, and pretty much alienated everyone you know. You can't even go back to your home city. Now you're out on your own, fending for yourself. Lets try and not mess THIS up, OK? She thought to herself. Crispy wasn't smiling. She usually never did. Especially not lately. Not after so much garbage in her life had just been piled on to her. It wasn't just the garbage of her past, but now of her present. The demons inside were the worst, but this new city had promise, and she had no one to fall back on anymore. It was time to make a new start. One that, hopefully, didn't involve bribing, extorting, bullying, and acting above the law. Well, maybe a little bit.
Crispy was a beautiful woman. Bright blue eyes that hid the hurt and pain inside, and a lean, curvy physique that anyone would envy. Born of violence and raised in the military, it was clear she could handle herself in a fight, and had spent years training her body to be a precision weapon. She was tan, and her shoulder length brown hair was tied in a ponytail On her right hip were a pair of military grade short swords, right in reach. Her outfit of choice was tight studded leathers that hugged all of her curves, with her long jacket that came to her knees.
"Hey Johann." Crispy nods, professionally to the short thin man addressing her. "I'm Crispy. I'm assuming this is the place?"
Entering the main building, where the others are congregating, there is a large foyer that is well illuminated by globes of light hovering overhead as well as the large stained glass allowing in the bright sunlight. People seem to be wandering into small groups, chatting to one another and getting introductions out of the way. Ahead seems to be a large alabaster desk with five humans, three female and two male, wearing blue gowns with the Seven Saints emblems embroidered on their front standing on the other side, apparently taking people's names for attendance.
A tiny, old halfling grins broadly, his eyes shrinking to slits as he approaches Johann. He bows deeply, reducing his three feet to half that and then stands erect again, looking up at the black-haired man. "I am Akaas, also a new adventurer with the Seven Saints." The old monk is bald on top, but sports an impressive amount of white hair that grows from the base of his skull, above his eyes, on his upper lip, and out of his chin. In fact, his beard touched the floor during his bow. He's wearing beautiful blue robes decorated with silver lettering in vertical stripes. (Anyone who speaks Celestial would recognize the script.) On the left chest of his robe is a silver brooch upon which is embossed a pair of eyes surrounded by seven stars — the symbol of Selune. Akaas looks around the garden and then back up at Johann. "Have you lived in Greenholden long? I have just recently relocated here from the Monastery of the White Lady in Adonaselune." (Those of you familiar with the geography know that Adonaselune is located about a day's journey east from Greenholden and is basically the Monastery and that's it. Those of you familiar with the church of Selune would know of the Monastery.)
A man walks to the halfling's side, "Excuse me sir.". At a glance you can notice the man's cropped and kept black hair, similar to ones at cloisters of priests, and his robes that cover the leather armor he wears. A brooch kept at the base of his hood bared the symbol of a platinum dragon. His eyes looked to the stripes on the Akaas' robes, as if reading them. He notices he has been staring for a bit too long and blushes, "I'm sorry, sir. I was just interested in your robes, quite beautiful. Are you a devout to the goddess Selune? I, myself, am an acolyte to Bahamut.". He bows to you and regards you with soft purple eyes, "I am Chetin, Chetin Humb, I hope to keep you all healthy and alive during our travels."
Akaas turns his broad smile on Chetin and bows again. "Yes, my son. I have been blessed to be one of Our Lady's children for close to a century and a half. I entered the monastery in Adonaselune at a very young age and lived there until very recently. It was only a couple weeks ago that I took my leave and decided to seek the White Lady's favor as an adventurer. I admit that I was unprepared for how different Greenholden would be from my home," he says congenially, motioning to the extravagance around them. "I have done a little study on the subject of the platinum dragon. It's a very honorable religion."
Chetin nods, "I find it enlightening. Although I would love to hear of your Lady as well, I studied a bit about her but only know little of the goddess. I'd happily share what I can tell you of my lord, Bahamut.". And he laughs slightly, "And yes, Greenholden is quite a big city, I'm thankful that I've found some kindred souls to help me settle here." He bows his head, "Now if you'll excuse me, I believe we must take an attendance of sorts with the Company's staff. Hopefully we shall meet again, sir Akaas." He walks off, his mace by his side bouncing with him and a glimmering shield on his back.
Well Kithre, you made it lass. Through trials and tribulations, you're here. Elucard would be so proud of you, try not to embarrass him through your actions.Kithre thinks to herself as she trails behind the mass of people heading into the main building. Her leather armor hasn't seen much wear, and features a swirling motif all over the place. She has a floppy-brimmed hat, but it's currently rolled up and tucked into a large epaulet on her left shoulder. A backpack sits over her shoulders with a gorgeous looking lute strapped to the side, while a flute sits in a leather holster on her hip, just in front of a rapier. Seeing the others are talking among themselves draws a smile from the young halfling. Brushing her coppery-blonde hair back over her ears, she walks up to one of the Seven Saints desk attendants.
"Hello there! I'm Kithre Cherrycheeks, I was told to attend today's event." she says, voice full of an excitement and cheer that carries through to her sparkling pale green eyes. "I've a paper here somewhere to that effect."she says, starting to pat down her various pockets and pouches looking for the letter.
Those who have entered also note that others are wearing bronze rings similar to their own. They then see walking into the main foyer is a golden-skinned aasimar with long flowing hair. She is wearing shiny adamantine plate armour and has a silver ring with the same effect on it. She seems to be busy as she just walks through, not stopping to talk to anyone before walking up a flight of stairs and leaving out of view.
After being ignored by Chetin, Johann turns back to Crispy and Akaas and says, "Nice to meet you both! I do think this is the place, Crispy. By the way, Crispy, this is Akaas from the Monastery of the White Lady in Adonaselune. I hope that we can all get along well in our time here. Shall we also go to get checked in? Akaas, I'm not very strong, but if you need any help getting there, I'd gladly help." Johann gestures to the desk, where everyone seems to be congregating.
A Female half-orc walks up to the opening, she looks around the outside before moving inwards, she has a tankard of ale in her right hand, taking sips from it occasionally. She stands around 6'3" her hair is platted into a ponytail, her light green skin is mostly covered with chain mail, she has a cloak and a shield with a pattern on it depicting a pair of large silver fangs. She moves in and heads to the desk where everyone else is.

Headed towards the desk, the group can see one of the people one the other side of the table is free to speak to. She looks up to the group. "Good morning, adventurers. I assume you are here for induction." She says, looking at the bronze rings each of you has been supplied with. "Well if you can tell me your names I'll have you signed in for the induction."
Akaas inclines his head toward Johann. "I appreciate the gesture, young man" he says kindly, "but I require no assistance." He turns to approach the desk, no hint of physical deficiency in his gate. When it comes his turn, he bows slightly to the desk attendant. "Master Akaas Fordus of the Order of the Moon Soul," he says politely, "new and eager recruit to the Seven Saints Adventuring Company. I am very pleased to be here."
The attendant at the desk seems to look through a rafter of parchment. She seems to stop a couple of pages down. "Ah, here we are. Akaas Fordus. We'll make note of your attendance, you and your future comrades will be headed through for induction shortly."
Johann follows Akaas to the desk with a nod to Crispy. He waits for his turn, then says, "Nice to meet you. My name is Johann Glorypunch, also here for the induction."
A man bursts through the door, panting in a full set of plate armor he removes his helmet. His armor looks worn, covered in scratches. The man stands at around 6 feet, a giant blade headed glaive sits on his back. Around his neck is a holy symbol representing a road leading to the sun. His face looks about as well as the armor does, covered in old scars that lay on his face along side his blue eyes and short black hair. “Sorry I‘m late” the voice comes out in a simple manner, speaking with both respect and authority
