The white-haired woman follows along after Esta, trying to stay quiet. She had questions too, but figures it best to save them for later. Looking through the window at the autopsy, she winners what sort of place this is. 'A hospital?' she wonders.
She looks around to see where they might be able to go next.
Skulking forward, it's clear Esta's injuries are causing more discomfort than she initially realized. She can hear her own footsteps as she slinks down the corridor.. not good at all, she thinks to herself.
Tyriel moves up to her, and offers aid. The glowing light radiating from this small boy is dazzling, Esta cannot help but be mesmerized, and without noticing feels her pain subside ever so slightly as his warmth seeps throughout her body. "Thank you Tyriel, I really appreciate that. Probably should try and keep the light show to a minimum though, especially out in the open." She places a comforting hand on Tyriels shoulder, nodding her head in thanks. At this distance, Tyriel will notice that one of her eyes has changed colour and is no longer hazel in appearance, but switched to a cat-like yellow.
Ensuring the group are in tow, she continues down the hallway hoping to not attract the attention of those creatures again.
"Light show?" Tyriel asks, apparently oblivious. He frowns for a moment, looking at her yellow eye, "Are... you alright?" His face goes pale when he realizes how out of the blue and possibly rude that question might have sounded since he's staring her right into that yellow eye. Why did he ask that? Then he frowns again, noticing that her wound barely looks healed at all.
His eyes go wide for a moment, clearly realizing that Esta is still in pretty bad shape in spite of his attempt at helping her, "...Don't thank me. I still haven't repaid my debt to you. You saved my life by opening that locker, and THAT was all I could do in return?"
He looks at his hands in utter dismay, Was I always this weak?!No, no that's not it. It has to be this body. His power is depleted, and it's all his brother's fault. As always. His eyebrows twitch in annoyance as he follows behind Esta. Why is this happening to him? Why can't he remember what happened in order to land him in this situation? The only thing he knows is that it wasn't his fault. This is preposterous!
After a while he chooses to walk beside the loud goblin, just because that's the only person present who is shorter than he is. ... it doesn't make him feel better.
There is a moment where some of you have a bit of scuffling feet that echoes through the halls for a minute, but then it is quiet again. The herald of dust and his body look up for a moment, but don't investigate, going back to whatever it was they were doing. It seems though, that the only way through and out of the mortuary is the cremation chamber. Maurice is probably on break now, right?
Esta, looking around the hallway for any obvious sign, is caught a little off-guard when Tyriel asks if she is OK. "Sure, why wouldn't I be? Apart from being in a place I do not know trying to escape with my life, I'm great."She turns away, realizing she may have just come off a bit rude. "Sorry, I'm just a bit anxious right now. Didn't mean to say it that way..."she says, looking towards the young boy.
After searching the corridor, it dawns on Esta that the only way out... is through there. "Damn it, I was hoping to avoid this."Esta kneels by the door to search for any way the door can be kept ajar. Investigation: 17
The only other things around there are the small dustpan and room, used for sweeping out ashes, neither of which seems to promising for keeping the door open.
"Dead end here," Halila says softly as are turns to head back. "That long hallway seems the only way to go." Still trying to stay quiet, she moves back to ashy hall. Seeing the levers, she starts to inspect them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the goblin approaches the hallway an shiver goes down his spine. "this looks like some kinda death trap... Only an idiot would walk down there...' He grumbles to himself, but loud enough for those nearby to hear. "Maybe I can remove the door... or at least damage the mechanism so that it won't close... The door cannot close on us if we take it off it's hinges." The goblin suggests before moving closer to the door and looking for any way to remove the door.
OOC: he would attempt to use his hammer / thieves tools / tinkerers tools to remove the door or damage the closing mechanisms it possible.
Sizzle becomes increasingly agitated as he fails to find a way to hold the door open or remove it. He takes his gloved hand and runs it across the stiff strip of hair running along the top of his head. "I don't think we got much choice." The goblin grumbles as he shakes his head. "I really don't like that hallway."
Zakhar nods to Halila then examines the narrow hall. That area definitely feels like a trap. He watches at the goblin tries and fails to disable the door. Seems they will have to test their luck.
"Hah! This place sure is interesting! Can I take the wheel-or...reins I mean?"
Zakhar gives the air in front of him a flat look. Ignoring the voice.
"UGH fine. See that broom and dustpan? Maybe try taking those inside with you."
Zakhar continues to give the air in front of him a flat look. Seriously? Like taking the broom and dustpan with them will actually do anything? His gaze drifts to the objects. Well. Perhaps they may be a magical safeguard? Or maybe taking them through would trick whatever undead are running around here into thinking he's the janitor.
"There you go! Think outside the box!"
Though if it doesn't work, he's just going to look like an idiot. He sighs, then wordlessly picks up the broom and dustpan. "Well." He says quietly, "The only way to go is forward. Though maybe we should proceed one at a time." He looks over the group. "I'll take the lead, the rest of you stay here until I'm sure it's safe alright?"He says. Then, still holding the broom in one hand and the dustpan in the other, he enters the hallway and walks to the opposite door.
The door on the other end of the hallway...is unlocked. Still a little heavy being an iron door but it opens easily enough this time. And no sign of Maurice.
Zakhar, feeling like a moron, opens the iron door and steps through quietly. He looks both ways, and if he sees nothing, he beckons the others to follow.
"Hmmmm," Tyriel makes a discontented noise. "Well for one you are still bleeding pretty badly..."He trails off as Esta continues down the hallway. He doesn't seem like he took her response the wrong way, he just seems unsure of her condition as well as... well, everything.
When they get to the hallway Tyriel looks down the chamber with a skeptical expression. He nods along with the others... seems this is their only way to go. He huffs, raising an eyebrow when Zakhar picks up the broom and dustpan... is he trying to trick whomever is here? "They" would have to be pretty stupid... or blind... in order to not realize that Zakhar is not a... what is he trying to be? A janitor? Either way... well, maybe everyone here looks like an adventurer or solder... what does Tyriel know anyways? He hasn't seen what "They" look like after all.
He gives the others a glance before padding down the hallway, gripping his bow tightly as he heads after Zakhar.
Sizzle takes up a position in the rear of the formation. He lingers a bit before entering the cremation room and quickly runs through once the others have safely entered the other room. "Hey... any of you ever get the feeling like you just stepped over your own grave." The goblin asks as he looks back over his shoulder towards room he just passed through.
Watching these go in one by one, and the door being unlocked, Esta plucks up the courage, and runs through the chamber. She breaks through to the other side, and hunches over, hands on her knees, her breathing intensified. "Bahhhh, I made it.. I made it... I'm OK" she says loudly enough for those around to hear. Brushing herself off, she stands up straight and turns to the group, looking a bit flush from the ordeal.
Halila stands there nearby and asks the group where to go next. At this point, Esta is drawing a blank - she hasn't made it this far before so hasn't a clue where to go. "Errr... perhaps we stick to the corridors for now to try and map the place out?"
She will wait eagerly for the group to make a decision.
Zakhar quietly sets down the two items, and wordlessly looks over at Esta, who is clearly relieved at making it through. Seems she doesn't know where to go now. Did she really only make it to that chamber? They he glances at Sizzle. That was a random thing to say, though perhaps that explains the weird feeling he's been getting this entire time. Part of him senses the entity within him nodding it's head. He glances at Tyriel and Halila, before turning back to Esta.
"I suppose we could scout the corridors, but lets try to stay together. This place...feels more dangerous than anywhere I've been before." With that, he heads down the south corridor. Staying against the wall, he glances down the corner to make sure it's clear before heading forward.

Unfortunately the pins are located inside the walls and are not able to be removed.
OOC: Do both doors have glass windows? Would a small sized goblin be able to fit through if it were to be broken?
(They do, but they only small viewing windows, a goblin would not be able to fit through.)
