Welcome to the party(A), AirHOrse. Glad to have you on board! I'm curious to see how the dichotomy between all these disparate character types is going to play out when everyone gets back to camp. Should be interesting.
Hello I am interested in joining as well. Just so I know with character creation is there any rules on class? I am somewhat interested in trying a Bloodhunter.

Bloodhunters are allowed, though I personally feel as if they're underpowered in some aspects. Just shoot me a PM with your finished character, and I'll look it over.
Since a few major holidays are coming up and post frequency is slowing down proportional to the speed at which they approach, I'm calling a brief hiatus from Eternal Warfare, just to remove the pressure of posting for everyone (myself included). We'll be on hiatus from December 23rd to January 2nd, though you can post here during that time if you want to wrap up some character actions. That said, I'm mostly going to be using this time to write out some lore for the world and maybe actually getting around to making a map so you all can see where you are in relation to each other.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
[Character submissions are still open, as a note.]
Will do and yeah they do seem like that but all classes have something that can hinder them. I just honestly like how they can be somewhat like a Witcher.

I'm gointo have to back out du ento a friend setting up a new campaign that I promised I would join. Sorry about bothering you and then running out so quickly. Hope everyone has fun with this, it really does seem like a cool idea.
I'm pretty relieved to hear about the hiatus since I was unexpectedly unable to post for a while, but it turns out I missed nothing. Happy New Year everybody!
Hey all! Welcome back from the holidays! I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves and I'd like to wish you all a (slightly) belated New Year! I'd like to start off this year by saying that this campaign has grown larger than I ever thought it would, by which I mean we have 35 players! While I'm pleased that the numbers have been growing, it's been getting a little disorganized around here, and as such, I'll be splitting you all into separate threads based on your current War Party. To go along with this, there'll be actual DnD Beyond campaigns set up, as I've decided to go back on my original decision to not split you all into campaigns on account of the fact that DnD Beyond only allows 3 content shares with a 12 person limit, and if we keep growing at this rate, I'd be out of content shares if I wasn't already. That's why I'm setting a party cap of 12, which allows me to keep all of you organized, but also allows me to keep recruiting past 36 people as I add new War Parties. I'll be PMing everyone with the invite link for their particular campaign, and the links to each individual thread for each of the parties will be down below. This is a cross-post from the Gameplay Thread, so you don't necessarily have to go there.
It's time for Lore Dump 2, though it will be a little shorter than the previous lore dump. This time, I'm taking more of a focus on flavoring the mechanical elements of the game, so today, the focus is on...
MAGIC
Magic in Atlas is the most advanced of all the "technologies," though mostly for use in war. A large-scale spell can change the tide of battle, whether that be eradicating a large group with a fireball or summoning an angel to fight alongside your allies or boosting the speed and strength of a powerful warrior while slowing down the enemy's own ace in the hole.
Magic has always permeated the world, though Nettis and Evian were the first to teach mortals how to harness this powerful force, leading to the ways that magic is cast today. Since they first taught a mortal how to use magecraft, there has always been an Archmage, though now there's the Archmage of Light and an Archmage of Dark. The current Archmage of Light is the 456th Archmage, a dwarven woman known as the Forged Stone. Her predecessor, Archmage Gweldin, developed the Siege Casting Circle, a device that uses multiple spellcasters to launch extremely large scale spells. Rumor has it that the current Archmage is seeking to perfect the circle by reducing its size and cost to construct.
Other magical constructions include Warforged. Warforged are being built on both sides, using a process to create an artificial soul, using an elemental core, which is created using precious gems and bound elementals. The process is incredibly complicated, but it has been explicitly stated by the main manufacturers of warforged that the bound elemental has no effect on the nature of the warforged. The sentience of warforged comes from a complicated network of magicules, the magical particles that conduct magecraft in the world, that have aligned themselves within the precious gems, serving as a magical "neural network." The elemental core works best within the size Warforged are at now, with smaller ones having too much power and larger ones not enough. There has been talk of trying to create a more powerful elemental core to replace the few golems used in the armies, but the process would take quite some time and quite a bit of funding.
Magic in Atlas before the gods was done in a more ritualistic fashion, often with sacrifices and longer casting times, which remains evident in lizardfolk shamans and centaur treespeakers. That said, there is evidence that a magically advanced civilization existed, though what became of them, no one knows. Their ruins dot the eastern coast of Atlas, and archaeological work is being done there as a pet project of one of the High Magic Council members. Recently, they've discovered a map of the Eastern Archipelago, which lies a ways off of the eastern coast and stretches for miles in all directions.
The actual schools of magic are of little relevance, though it does help to determine certain magics at a glance. Each school of magic gives off its own color, and while it isn't generally visible, detect magic and identify generally are able to reveal these auras. In certain cases, such as the death of a summoned creature or during a spell that converts one thing to another, this color will be visible to the unaided eye. The schools and their associated color are described below.
