To apply for the game, please submit a character sheet (as denumerated below), including your roleplaying experience and posting availability. I'm not a harsh judge, but I want to ensure that this game has a lot of frequent, meaty posts, as it is a roleplay-heavy sandbox world that several friends of mine and myself have been working on for some time now - and I am hoping that this particular campaign adds even more to the world of Meer.
This campaign takes place in an alternate world within the universe of Kinloran. If you're not one of those players, that's fine because this is waaaay different. The Elemental Plane of Meer, is a veritable water-world; vast stretches of endless oceans punctuate the overwhelming majority of the realm, and very few land-masses large enough to bolster kingdoms exist. Most of the world's inhabitants reside on small isles protected by these few larger factions, who play at war with one another when not being wracked by the seas suring Storm's Harrowing. In general the political landscape of the realm consists of pirates and raiders who hate to be called pirates, The Philanthropists, and their counterparts - merchants, royal liasons, courtly spies, and assassins who are known far and wide as the (publicly) friendly Trade Federation. You play as a traveler, who has come to the far western reaches of the world, the Shattered Isles. You are in search of something, or someone, or even nothing. Perhaps they have come from a background as a captain who was mutinied against? Perhaps they have been contacted by some deep, ancient spirit, and search answers somewhere - anywhere? Or maybe you are simply passing by, and heard there might be work nearby? The choice is yours to make, as are all the choices... In Meer Ragnarök.
The sun, Lia Fail, hangs high in the sky. You've recently moored a tattered (if still existing) rowboat from weeks of sailing through the sixty long days of Storm's Harrowing on a floating port-city in the Shattered Isles called The Wareshome. The docks are lined with peddlers and merchants, all trying to sell, unload, or pack up their wares. It is now Gaonda, the fifth and final day of the second week of High Fail. The blazing heat burns hottest, and the island crops are sewn and grown over two-hundred-forty days of blissful respite. There is quite a bit to buy and sell here, but many of the people seem to be coming and going. The Philanthropists seem to keep to the northside of the port, in the slum-area, though a few meander to the Blackfoot Bar for drinks. Mathilda Blackfoot runs the place, and though she has some dinghy rooms she lends 'em for cheap.Trade Federation guards pace the piers in shining, lustrous armor, carrying polearms - though their patrols are a bit scant. There's a fair bit to explore, but you have the feeling finding work, clean work anyway, might prove a bit challenging.

Looking for TWO SEPARATE PARTIES with 3-5 players each. This is the second thread/party. The other has been posted HERE, and you may choose to join that one if you like. The two parties will be in the same game!! You may meet each other several times. You may become tentative allies, fast friends, or even bitter rivals. Which party you choose does NOT predetermine the story whatsoever, and the beginnings of both campaigns have the same potential to be either entirely identical or drastically different. It is unlikely you will not be approved as long as you are willing to participate on a regular basis, and post a decent amount of content (2-5 sentences average). This is a game with much more focus on creating your own narrative and roleplaying heavily with wildly varying characters and kingdoms and factions in a fully screw-with-able world, with less of an emphasis on combat and abilities. I look forward to all the appuhlicayshuns! Let's have some fun!!!

Looks ok so far, I'm also going to need your Oath, your chosen deity (name, alignment, appearance, and patronage only), and just a little bit more backstory. Maybe even just write a bit about your father? Ajax, being a new member of Heaven's Palladia, would have likely been sent to the Wareshome to meet his forward commander: Lieutenant Atlus, a coordinator within the Wanderers. Having gone through a rigorous three-month basic training period, during which over 80% of your class quit, you have recently begun to sink your teeth into your new divine powers. Now training to put those powers to real use, you set out to find Atlus and gather your first missive as a Paladin.
Also, one thing: Do you have an idea how often and how much you'd be able to post?
Background: A devoted, promising student in one of the monasteries in the Wushin Xiao'lan empire, Q'wai is now a man on the run, fleeing for his life after causing the accidental death of a nobleman's son.
I am able to post multiple times daily. My experience with D&D includes being a DM for a few campaigns over the past two years (in real life, as well as play-by-post) and playing a character in several play-by-post campaigns.
I can post at least once a day in weekdays, while during weekends it could be I have pleanty of time or no time at all.
I am constant and actually I have been let down by some games that never went trough (not even the first scenes)
about Ajax
Ajax is 1,70m, brown short hair , broad shoulder.
Even if he takes things usually quite seriously, He is good company if not offended: he is considered hot-tempered and touchy on the things that really matters to him, that's why if we carry on playing he will take the oath of VENGEANCE.
History: Ajax's mother and father were fishermen, specialised in fishing pearls, oysters and the like at the bottom of the sea near the rocks and cliffs. When Ajax was just a baby in one of their many dives, eventually they discoevered a rock/cliff near the shore that was a secret entrance for the Depths: duergar chased them and managed to kill Ajax's mother. So Ajax was left with just his father (who stopped fishing for pearls, just normal fish). His father name is Nestor: he is quite old, he have always been a great example of dedication and affection for Ajax.
GODS: I don't know which gods are present in Meer but , given the importance of his father in his life, I think he can worship a deity representing the father of the gods, or the family fireplace and such, or the concept of tradition: you know which could be and which suits better. PATRONAGE: what do you mean by patronage?

starting level?
Yes! Sorry, though I included it but I didn't lol, we're starting as first level characters. SO! The way gods are done in Meer - people aren't really religious, and can be considered atheist in general, even. Instead of worshipping gods, they worship aspects of certain things, and revere the deific representations as ancient ancestors of their own. Instead of saying "praise to god," you might say intimately "thank you, my father." Instead of saying a prayer over dinner, you might thank a specific person you have in your head to represent the deific tenet. Your tenet would be, essentially, the Allfather or the Dagda, or a similar patron represented to Ajax by the image and morals of his own father. Also thank you! It all looks pretty much perfect.

What are the circumstances of the noble's death? Did Q'Wai grow up as a monk, or did he choose that lifestyle?
Backstory: Xolf was born to a female Drow by the name of Mololin Orlysek. Her mother's clan had attempted to overtake another clan that they thought was out of Loth's favor. They soon discovered however that the fact was not true. The end result was that her mother's clan lost the battle and would soon be destroyed. Not wanting to suffer the fate of her clan Moloin fled to the underdark wilds. There she lived alone till she gave birth to Xolf.
Xolf was a unexpected child. Her mother had a one night stand with a guard of her house before the battle that would doom her clan. It was a bit of fun to calm her nerves. She never expected to actually get pregnant. In the wilds of the Under Dark a child was a liability, but her mother could not bring herself to be rid of her. There was a maternal connection between her and her unborn child. Something that would never have happened in the city proper. However being alone surrounded by possible danger made her cling to the child. As a result Xolf was born and raised far beyond the civilization of the Drow.
Growing up in the Underdark Wilds there was no such thing as social hierarchy or the teachings of Loth for that matter. Her mother was in charge, because she knew what she was doing. Xolf followed and fought beside her. Her mother taught her how to hunt, she taught her how to fight, and she taught her how to read. However she did not teach her about Loth or the tenets of the spider queen. She omitted that part of her education for personal reasons. The more her daughter was loyal to her the more likely she would survive. Loyalty was not something Loth promoted, and in their current situation Loyalty was paramount. Xolf was taught that nothing was sacred and everything was permitted. The codes that bound Moloin in the Drow city did not bind her in the wild. If a spider annoyed them, she killed it. If she did not feel like preying she didn't. When she won a victory she praised herself. Her daughters Loyalty and Love was to her mother first and then to herself. Others were not to be trusted. Everyone had a alternative motive, except family. Family always looked out for family.
Xolf and her mother survived in the wilds though many hardships. Xolf's strength proved to be her strongest skill. It was a skill her mother often exploited in her plans. The two lived for sixteen years together till one day Xolf discovered a wounded Drow Male. She and her mother had run into Drow before in the wilds and often avoided or killed them, depending on the situation. However this was different. This time Xolf was old enough for puberty to take a strong hold. The Drow male was cute, and the young barbarian was in love. Knowing that her mother would order her to kill the boy Xolf assisted him behind her mother's back. She bound the young Drow's wounds and nursed him back to help in a side cavern. She would spend a hour a day talking to him, when she was suppose to be paroling. During that time she let far to much information slip about who she was and where she come from. The revelation filled the soldier with joy, unknown to her. Eventually he got better and left, to Xolf's sadness. However he promised to return and she took it to heart. For four months she waited for his return, not telling her mother of course, and he did, with a Drow hunting party.
The male had returned seeking to end the line of Orlysek. Her mother's house was the house that had attacked his and failed. The Drow ambush party had caught the maiden duo off guard. Their capture was swift and brutal. The male Xolf has saved, took his knife and cut open her mother's throat. The sight sent a wave of emotions over Xolf. Then she just, snapped. Everything went red and the only thing she can remember was screams. When she came to she discovered that most of the hunting party was dead. She was covered in wounds, and blood stained her hands. It was the first time she had ever raged, and it would not be her last. The only remaining member of the Hunting Party alive was a young Drow female who was cowering in the corner. Xolf looked at her knowing full well that the girl would bring further trouble, but she could not bring herself to kill her. In the hunt her and her mother had only hunted beast in their prime. The weak and young they left to their own. Let the other beast have them. Xolf was not comfortable with killing the young, and as a result she let her live.
For the next year and a half Xolf felt the lonely sting of life in the Underdark without her mother at her side. The Drow Hunting parties would come from the city searching for her, only to fall prey to the beast that haunt the tunnels. Every now and then one or two of them would survive and make their way back to the city. Then Xolf would ambush them. She would hit them while they were weak and unprepared. She would slaughter them with no mercy. A tribute to her mother. However even that grew old. She tough she could hate forever, but hatred meant little in the harsh environment she lived in. She did not have time to brood, when a beast could be stalking her at any moment. She did not have time to scheme when a Orc clan haunted her herd of under beast. She did not have time to grieve when her death was one simple miss step away.
After a year, the hunting parties stopped. Xolf had not realized it, but she enjoyed those hunters. She enjoyed their voices. She enjoyed the idea of people. Alone, and in the dark life was bland. She lived day by day doing nothing, but fighting and eating. It was terrible. It was during this year of darkness that she heard a voice. A voice that song in her head. It was not a call of a Mind Flayer, she hated them, or the song of a death trap. It was a voice deep down inside of her. When she closed her eyes she could see it. Almost make out who or what it was that was calling her. A creature, something like she had never seen before. It was on a horse and riding with a axe. it had a head in it's hand and a fearsome expression on his face. Tempus! The name hit her like a mace. She nearly fell from her ledge. From that moment on a Image of a Bruning sword marked Xolf's mind. She could not get rid of it. When she began to battle against monsters of the deep the word would escape her mouth. When she ate she would whisper the name. Eventually she became so bold to scream it into the blackness. Who or what was this Tempest. Seeking this, thing out, she decided to leave her home. The streach of caves and caverns she had known for so long.
Her quest for Tempus sent her upward. Her mother spoke of the surface and of the weak elves from above. She spoke of men and of Orcs. She has seen Orcs. A few went this deep. However she had never seen men or the other Elves. Maybe they knew what this Tempus was. Going to the surface Xolf ran into a party of Orcs. She first attempted to bypass them, but eventually was discovered. After slaying them in brutal combat she discovered their symbol. The symbol of the One Eyed god. Looking at the emblem she began to understand what the flalming sword was, and the nature of Tempus started to form into her mind. She was being called by a god! But Why? She did not prey to him, or did she? Now she did. In the middle of the battle his name was on her lips. Was that his purpose? If so why did he not simply say. To many questioned filled her mind. Continuing her journey she finally made it to the surface.
When she arrived she was meet by a giant of a women. She had hair as red as fire and shoulders three times as wide as Xolf. She was covered in more muscles than Xolf could count. The women was named Bera, and she carried the pelt of such a beast as a cape. Tempus had given her a vision, and sent her to meet Xolf as she arrived. It was then that Xolf understood the truth of her god, the Lord of Battle. For the next twenty five years Xolf spent her days running with Bera and her tribe. She learned the way of the surface and the harsh life of the barbarian tribe. She stayed with them till Bera died of old age, and when she did so Xolf took her name, Wildheart. With a new name, and her god in her heart Xolf Wildheart decided to travel the land and see the wider world.
Experience: I am relatively new to DnD. I have been running with a group for six moths. It was deep homebrew. I know the basics. However I have been roleplaying for at least ten years.I first started out Rp on a one piece form, and then moved to several others. I got into DnD last year.
Availability. I know I can drop a post at least three times a week easy. However I would let you know that I work security and at night shift. My work scheduled flips. Week 1: Mondays and Tuesdays. Off Wednesday and Thursdays. Work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Week 2: Off Monday and Tuesday, Work Wednesday and Thursday, Off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Week 3: Mondays and Tuesdays. Currently on a Week 2. So this is my long off weekend. I should be able to drop a post between 1pm and 4pm on days I work however.
From what I skimmed through of the lore it seemed like the world is mostly inhabited by humans and the like so I just wanted to know if the other races are around or is it strictly human?

Rekuberk Onc Level 8 | Half Orc | Barbarian (The Tales of the Fellowship of the White Cloaks)
There are lots of races around! From culture to culture, even humans consider themselves distinct from one another. Most of the world tends to deal with bigger issues like vampire bat swarms and shark-men attacks, so they don't really care about scaly skin and lizard-like eyes of the Dragonborn warrior paying for ale in their bar. The prototype campaign of this was run with a tiefling, a gnome, a half-elf, a variant human, and an aasimar party. So go nuts.
Indeed, take an 18 by default. Excellent post! That's quite an impressive backstory, and it sounds like you have a good grasp on the D&D races and themes and everything. Playing a Drow will be interesting, since they have NEVER been seen before on Meer. :} ONE THING HOWEVER, and this is VERY important to the main plot... Your character has never encountered a Mind Flayer. She would not even know what they are, nor would she have ever heard of them in any context whatsoever. It was very wondrous to read, though, honestly. Superb writing!!!
Oh really, wow, sorry. I just had a idea for a Female Drow Barbarian. Lol. OH right, I had not used the dice roller for some time on this site, so I botched the first one. So the score is actually 13,12,14,14,14, and the given 18
I'd love to use my own homebrew race of squirrel people but I doubt that they would do to tell in a world of so much water. That and for some reason every time I set the stats up they work once in character creator and then stop working.... Hmm I will make a character and try to post them asap.

Soft green eyes, set into a face of sun kissed skin and a mane of fiery red hair did her wonders as she grew. Often robbing men blind as they drunken attempts to woo her fell short. Her own adventures began when she got a bit too friendly with a Noble, Lord Felix Dredgen. Not knowing the man she had thought him the same dullards that always come to hear her sing. She was caught with her hand on his Gold purse and forced to run for her life. Fleeing into a life of sailing, Where her soft voice would calm a sailors woes and her Cooking skills kept all well fed. Given the Nickname "The Dame" for being so soft a person with a tough exterior.

It's ok! I said go nuts, after all. Also, no your rolls would be 18, 16, 14, 14, 14, 13 as per your initial roll. Drop the 12 as the lowest in favor of the 18. Higher stats anyway lol.

Excellent post! With that, we're basically all ready to go! Party is full, and we can start posting. I'll give everyone time to get their characters in order of course, and the link to make your char sheet in the campaign is here:
What are the circumstances of the noble's death? Did Q'Wai grow up as a monk, or did he choose that lifestyle?
Q'wai's parents were taken from him when a devastating disease swept through his childhood village. The fate of the orphaned Q'wai was left in the hands of the village elders, and they believed the local monastery would be the most suitable environment for the boy's upbringing. Q'wai soon proved to be a devoted, promising student in one of the few monasteries in the Wushin Xiao'lan empire, until, tragically, he brought about the accidental death of a nobleman's son. Walking through the crowded market streets one morning, Q'wai and his master were suddenly confronted by a proud, rude man who brought a false accusation of pickpocketing against the young monk's master.
"You are mistaken, good sir," responded Te Shing, Q'wai's master.
"You dare to contradict me?!" barked the insolent man, who then slapped Te Shing.
Q'wai, unable to endure the false accusation and insult thrown at his master, reacted quickly. Meaning only to embarrass the nobleman's son by tripping him, Q'wai swept the man's legs from beneath him with a well-placed blow from his staff. Unfortunately, the man's head struck the ground violently. He died minutes later. Naturally, Q'wai was horrified by the unintended consequences of his actions. Upon learning that a bounty had been placed upon his head by Zhang Wei, the dead man's father, Q'wai fled the monastery with weeping eyes and a sorrowful heart. Where he would go, he did not know. He knew, however, that he must travel as far as possible to escape the wrath of the powerful one who pursued him.
They are based off an old race from second AD&D called the Kepcra. Sadly all they really gave were the stats and no backstory. As for my intpretation of them they need work as have only used them in a pne shot homebrew world irl with my friends. No the race I would more likely use would be either half elf or maybe half orc.

Hi! first of all congrats for the homebrew page!
ALIGNMENT: LEGAL NEUTRAL

Yes and no, it's a case-by-case basis with me. Even an idea I have an aversion to initially may win me over if you're passionate about it!
HERE'S the campaign link for Beyond, everyone:

Name: Xolf Wildheart
Race: Elf (Drow)
Class: Barbarian
Age: 39
Attributes 0

You said we can take a 18 in one stat right.
From what I skimmed through of the lore it seemed like the world is mostly inhabited by humans and the like so I just wanted to know if the other races are around or is it strictly human?

Daerthe Narcion Level 4 | Drow | Rogue (Karmoli's Great Upheaval)

I am able to post multiple times per day, More so during the Weekends. I have very little experience when it comes to d&d as a whole, having been introduced to it only 3 months ago but am willing and able to learn.
Malenia - [Monk - Way of the Jedi] - Auryn: Princess of Destiny
I need to know a looooooot about your homebrew race before I can include them in my game. I'm not opposed to the idea, but I need to make sure it's balanced for the game.

They are based off an old race from second AD&D called the Kepcra. Sadly all they really gave were the stats and no backstory. As for my intpretation of them they need work as have only used them in a pne shot homebrew world irl with my friends. No the race I would more likely use would be either half elf or maybe half orc.
