In the name of the most gracious majesty, Lord Regent Val'sadar III of the Kingdom of Malvantia brings joyous word of glory and riches beyond imagination to those who join the expedition to the unexplored regions of the far-west. Any who partake in this offer will have any debts and crimes against the crown considered paid in full in return for service as a privateer in His Majesty's service. For recruitment, stop by the Royal Expeditionary Office in the port-city of Buchester within the next seven moons for a new life.
Long live the Kingdom of Malvantia, Glory to the Regent!
Tears of the Fallen (TotF) is an expanding universe set within the fantasy realm of Vallencia capable of supporting all fantasy RPG rule sets and settings. For the purpose of this campaign, pre-existing lore such as nations and past historical events for previous players are reset. The primary focus of play is on the unknown lands of the continental mass to the westerly winds. This campaign will be starting at 3rd Level and is anticipated to proceed up to 20th level using a milestone/achievement progression system. At current, it is to be assumed that this is a mid-high magic level campaign with a focus on exploration, survival, combat, and socio-economic management with the capability to potentially become leaders of new settlements and make a stake out of unclaimed lands.
General guidelines and information for participants is the following:
Don't start a PvP instance. Stealing, deliberate and/or indirect killing such as "accidentally walling off the only escape with X player still on the other side", or otherwise starting a duel that is not consented by both the DM and other player(s).
Avoid being evil or doing barbarous things simply because you picked an Evil alignment.
Avoid being absurdly <insert characteristic stat here> because you have an 8. The average civilian has a baseline of 8 and they're fairly reasonable.
No begging for items. I will follow Adventurer's League magic item distribution of "no player shall receive another magic item until all players have the same amount". Willing trades are allowed or gambling between items with DM permission.
Character Sheets "should" be posted on D&D Beyond and the campaign created (I own all modules/campaigns for players invited).
Character Stats should use either Point Buy or Standard Array. Rolling is not allowed.
Homebrew Races, Classes, and/or Feats are not allowed except for UA and/or Critical Role.
Firearms are available, the existing technology is equivalent to mid-late 1600s.
Once a posting starts, all participants have 24 hours to respond. Combat will for the most part have an assigned time that works for most players to streamline actions.
DM Time Zone is EST. Primary posting hours of 1700-2300 workdays excluding Wednesdays (I am a DM in Adventurers League that night).
Due to the nature of PBP games, I am also willing to run another game of the same nature.
Either or works. I am basing recruitment on a first come first serve basis. Depending on interest, I will inform when recruitment is closed. In my experience with PBP, larger party sizes aren't nearly as deadly to everyone since you don't have to shout over people.

I won't spoil the locale as in game it's entirely unknown lands. But you are partially correct in the "wild" part. All I will say at this point is "it's dangerous to go alone, bring an umbrella"...

I'm interested as well. So I know though my idea was creating a Warfgorged Battle Smith Artificer and wanted to know if that was allowed. My idea for his basic backstory is that he was made by a Craftsmen guild to be assistant to various members and overtime developed a personality of their own. After that they became a full member and studied enough to learn to use a large variety of tools. I feel he would be older but I not that skilled due to only recently being able to go after his own interests.

I have no problem with Warforged, however I do not recommend them due to their unique play-requirements (particularly when it comes to healing). If you really want to, I would suggest communicating with an undecided player to see if you can team together and have a synergy such as a Gnome/Halfling Tinkerer that way you have an external source of repair and healing.

Ok but as far as I understand it unless it is homerule warforged can be healed through normal means such as through healing magic as from what I understand they are considered as living humanoids despite being manufactured. But if it is a serious problem I have no problem changing the race.

I’m very interested in this storyline. I was thinking about playing a cleric of the forge domain. I’ve got healing and im assuming a wokring understanding of metal work. If that works for you guys?
I know what you mean. I played them in 3.5 and had to end up paying a dwarf to travel with me to repair him. By the end of it we had him described as being made of a menagerie of parts. Although I do mind of like the idea that during a rest he had to do like a self repair or perhaps there is a slight difference in the way a cleric would cast a healing all on a Warforged.

I have no problem with that, it would mesh very well with Darths concept.

Arocdoc Stonethrower better known as just Roc had loving parents that wished to only protect him. However, Roc needed more. He needed excitement and adventure in his life. And with the most painful thing he could think to do... he ran from home. He left his parents a note, told them not to look for him -- not that they could ever find him if they did. Roc took many forms and shapes as he traveled he eventually settled in a dwarven colony and picked his dwarven name. Roc lives most of his life in the form of a dwarf now, he worked in the mines with his found family fighting off beasts so the miners could mine. He developed rare magics known as Stone Sorcery and his skin became hardened and he only became better at his job.
He began to train with the dwarven warriors as he grew comfortable with the warhammer and the battleaxe, Roc started getting weird dreams of blades and blunt objects calling to him. Roc one night let the call consume him as he now answers to the hexblade. With this two combined paths he only grew stronger. Eventually, Roc knew his job in the mines was done, he needed yet again to expand... he left the colony but kept the identity.

Sounds interesting, I'll probably post a character sometime soon.
Is this going to be a sort of Wild West-like campaign? I just got that sort of vibe from it, what with the firearms and the exploration of the west.
